About Us

SGH Civils & Surfacing is a growing and reputable company specialising in high-quality civil engineering and surfacing works. We take pride in delivering reliable, professional services across a range of projects, from small-scale works to large infrastructure jobs.

The Role

We are currently looking to expand our team and are seeking experienced and reliable Surfacing Operatives to join us. We have opportunities available for the following roles:

Paver Driver
Screwman
Roller Driver
Rakehand

You will be working as part of a team delivering surfacing projects to a high standard, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on site.

Key Responsibilities

Operate machinery and equipment relevant to your role (e.g. paver, roller)
Assist in the laying and finishing of asphalt and other surfacing materials
Work collaboratively with team members to meet project deadlines
Follow all health & safety regulations and site procedures
Carry out daily checks and basic maintenance on equipment
Ensure work is completed to a high standard of quality

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar surfacing role (essential)
Relevant tickets/qualifications (e.g. CPCS/NPORS for machine operators)
Strong understanding of health & safety practices
Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
Good work ethic and reliability
Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £14.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
