Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and personable Events Assistant to support the organisation and execution of various events in the local area. You must be over the age of 18.

It is a relatively straightforward role as you will guide people into the event, scan their tickets and answer any questions they might have.

We are a growing events company so over time you may be asked to do more and more work. This be at the weekends, so it is definitely a second job, and daytime, so if you have an evening job it won't impact that. Hours are regularly 9am-3pm, but this can vary a little.

The event runs monthly.

Because of the type of events we run you may be asked to wear a costume, so this will suit someone with a sense of fun. This is not a deal breaker.

If you drive that is an added bonus as we will not just be running events in Taunton.

Duties

Greet guests enthusiastically
Support with registration
Table set up and arrangement
Promote additional services or products through upselling to maximise revenue opportunities
Coordinate with vendors, staff, and venue management to ensure smooth operations
Manage time effectively to adhere to event schedules
Organise event materials, supplies, and equipment before, during, and after events
Handle any unforeseen issues promptly to maintain a high standard of service
Have a smile on your face and enjoy yourself, this is not a boring office job
Security, be vigilant so that we can discourage theft

Skills

Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills for liaising with guests, team members, and vendors
No experience necessary
Good time management skills
Friendly demeanour with a professional attitude towards guests and colleagues
A sense of fun. If you are wearing a costume we want you to play the part!

This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and events management to gain practical experience while contributing positively to memorable occasions.
