About the role

Shape how the UK delivers green energy – at scale

At National Grid, our Strategic Infrastructure portfolio is at the heart of the UK’s journey to a cleaner, more resilient energy future. From offshore connections to major transmission upgrades, we’re delivering some of the country’s largest, most complex infrastructure programmes.

We’re now looking for a Portfolio Governance & Process Analyst to help ensure our projects are governed efficiently, proportionately, and with confidence.

Working closely with our Portfolio Governance, Process & Change Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening governance across the portfolio. Using data, insight, and analysis, you’ll:

Identify risks and opportunities across processes and performance
Improve governance frameworks to support smarter decision-making
Enhance consistency and assurance across portfolio PMOs and delivery teams

Your work will help leaders focus on what matters most – enabling the successful delivery of critical energy infrastructure that will power the UK for generations.

Location: Warwick (hybrid working – blend of office and home).

Key accountabilities

Change Control

Aid in the consolidation and standardisation of change control at the portfolio level, checking adherence to change control procedures and analysis of the overall impact of change to the portfolio.

Document Management

Apply governance standards and document requirements.
Maintain governance guidance, standards, templates, and project documentation.
Contribute to defining requirements for document and records management.

Gate Reviews

Ensure risks to the readiness of stage gate reviews are highlighted early to the portfolio and PMO to proactively mitigate or control the process for onshore and offshore programmes.
Assess and ensure that all gate deliverables are thoroughly reviewed and meet the required quality standards, reporting on where intervention may be required.
Participate in gate assurance checks to facilitate successful project transitions.

What you'll bring

Proven experience in change control, document management, and stage gate reviews within large-scale infrastructure programmes, in a portfolio management office (PMO) environment
Strong understanding of working within a regulated industry
Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and lead cross-functional teams
Solid knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (e.g. APM, PMI)
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear insights and actionable improvements
Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to high-quality delivery
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Construction, or a related field
Flexible to travel as required

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £48,000 - £61,000 – dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
