Job Summary
MoroccoNext International Trade & Business Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior International Trade Manager to lead cross-border trade operations, market-development initiatives, and international business relationships from its Manchester office.
This senior role is suited to a trade professional with strong experience in imports, exports, customs procedures, supply-chain coordination, regulatory compliance, and international business development. The successful candidate will manage trade activities between the United Kingdom and overseas markets while helping clients and commercial partners navigate complex international transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement international trade strategies aligned with the company’s commercial and growth objectives
- Lead import and export operations involving goods, services, documentation, logistics, and customs coordination
- Identify new international markets, distributors, suppliers, buyers, and strategic business partners
- Manage commercial relationships with overseas clients, manufacturers, freight providers, customs agents, and professional advisers
- Coordinate purchase orders, sales contracts, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, licences, and shipping documentation
- Ensure international transactions comply with UK customs rules, sanctions requirements, export controls, product standards, and applicable trade regulations
- Advise clients and internal teams on Incoterms, customs classifications, duties, tariffs, VAT, and cross-border delivery obligations
- Monitor shipments, customs clearance, delivery schedules, documentation accuracy, and operational risks
- Work with freight forwarders, carriers, warehousing providers, insurers, and customs intermediaries to resolve trade issues
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, country-risk reviews, and commercial feasibility assessments
- Develop market-entry strategies, distribution plans, pricing models, and international sales proposals
- Support negotiations involving supply agreements, distribution contracts, agency arrangements, and commercial partnerships
- Monitor exchange-rate exposure, payment terms, credit risks, trade-finance requirements, and transaction profitability
- Prepare international trade reports, revenue forecasts, risk assessments, and performance updates for senior management
- Represent the company at trade exhibitions, business forums, buyer meetings, government programmes, and networking events
- Develop internal trade procedures, compliance controls, document-management standards, and operational workflows
- Lead, coach, and develop international trade, logistics, and business-development personnel
Requirements
- Significant experience in international trade, import and export management, global business development, logistics, or cross-border commercial operations
- Strong knowledge of customs documentation, international shipping, Incoterms, duties, tariffs, VAT, and trade-compliance procedures
- Experience managing relationships with overseas clients, suppliers, distributors, freight forwarders, and customs agents
- Commercial experience in negotiating contracts, pricing, payment terms, and international business arrangements
- Strong understanding of supply-chain operations, shipment planning, customs clearance, and trade-related risks
- Excellent analytical, organisational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence working across different cultures and markets
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, transactions, client requirements, and international projects simultaneously
- Experience using ERP, customs, logistics, CRM, trade-compliance, or shipment-tracking systems is desirable
- Familiarity with UK–Morocco trade or business relationships involving Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, or other international markets would be advantageous
- Additional language skills, particularly French or Arabic, would be beneficial but are not essential
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, Trade, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent professional experience will be considered
