Workshop Operations Technician

Location: Tekhniseal Manchester
Salary: £24,500 – £26,500 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (45-minute lunch break)
Benefits:

21 days holiday + bank holidays (3 days out of 21 for Christmas closure)

Tekhniseal specialises in the refurbishment, design, and manufacture of mechanical seals, tailored to meet precise customer specifications. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and customer service, operating as a close-knit team in a dynamic workshop environment.

The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Workshop Engineer to join our small team. This is a varied role where you’ll work with a range of tools and machinery including lapping machines, lathes, milling machines, and handheld tools. You’ll be involved in refurbishing mechanical seals, quality checking, and supporting general workshop operations.

While also supporting customer-facing and administrative functions. Answering incoming phone calls and responding to customer email enquiries
Serving customers at the trade counter, providing basic technical assistance and order processing

Training will be provided, but prior experience with mechanical tools and seal assembly/disassembly is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Refurbishing mechanical seals using workshop machinery
Inspecting new seals for quality before dispatch
Managing stock and inventory
Handling customer enquiries via phone and emails, including taking orders
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the workshop

What We’re Looking For

Experience using handheld and manual tools
Strong attention to detail and methodical approach
Good computer literacy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Initiative and problem-solving skills
Excellent telephone manner and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to multitask and stay organised

Pay: £24,500.00-£26,500.00 per year
