At Aylsham Sports Hub, we are very proud of our recently opened new gym facility which opened last summer. This includes a 40-station gym and separate spin studio. We are dedicated to helping our members reach their health and fitness goals by offering great facilities, including a swimming pool and classes, with a welcoming community environment and staff team.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated gym and leisure assistant to join our team. This role is based within the new gym and reception area. The successful candidate requires excellent customer service & communication skills, with a true desire to support our users on their health and fitness journey.
As a gym / leisure assistant, you will play a key role in providing a high level of customer service while assisting members with the use of the gym equipment. You will be responsible for leading small group gym sessions, (including youth only gym sessions) guiding new members during inductions, dealing with membership enquiries, reception duties, and ensuring the gym and other facilities are always clean, presentable and well-maintained.
You will also be expected to deliver exercise classes including spin (we will support you to do a spin course if you don’t have the qualification already).
The successful candidate must hold a minimum level 2 gym instructor qualification. It would be beneficial to also hold a First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate, however not essential.
Previous experience in the industry and/or in customer services would be advantageous.
Good communication skills are an essential part of the role.
