Reception – Haviland House, Goring‑by‑Sea

Join Guild Care as a Weekend Receptionist and become the friendly, reassuring presence that greets families, visitors, and staff at Haviland House. As the first person people meet when they arrive, you’ll help create a warm, calm, and loving atmosphere that reflects the heart of our dementia‑specialist home. If you’re cheerful, compassionate, and love making people feel welcome, this is the perfect role for you.

Hours & Shift Pattern

Weekends only
Saturday & Sunday: 10am–4pm (6 hours per day)
Relief/bank cover may occasionally be requested

About The Role

About This Role

As a Weekend Receptionist, you will provide a warm, professional, and caring reception service for residents’ families, visitors, and staff. You’ll help ensure that every person who walks through our doors feels welcomed, supported, and reassured.

Your responsibilities will include:

Greeting families and visitors with warmth, positivity, and a friendly smile
Providing a high standard of customer service to everyone who enters the home
Answering and triaging incoming calls and emails efficiently and professionally
Supporting visitors by signposting them to the right people or services
Assisting with light administrative tasks to support the home’s smooth running
Creating a calm, organised, and welcoming reception environment
Representing Guild Care’s BELIEF values in every interaction

Guild Care was founded in Worthing in 1933 by visionary volunteers dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals in the local community. Originally known as Worthing Council of Social Service, the organisation focused on alleviating poverty, isolation, and health challenges during difficult times. In the 1950s and 1960s, Guild Care established innovative day centres and residential care homes, significantly enhancing life quality for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Today, Guild Care supports over 3,000 people annually across West Sussex through a range of community-focused services. Remaining true to its founding values, the organisation is one of Worthing's largest employers, powered by almost 700 dedicated staff members and the essential contributions of more than 300 volunteers, all united in making a meaningful difference.
