A J Taylor Electrical is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Solar Installation Engineer to join our team on a full-time, employed PAYE basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous Solar PV experience who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, enjoys working as part of a professional team, and wants to build a long-term career in the fast-growing renewable energy sector.
You’ll be working across Sussex, Surrey and Kent, carrying out a wide range of Solar PV and renewable installation works for domestic and commercial clients.
The role will include:
- Solar PV installations
- Battery storage installations
- Inverter installation and replacement
- Fault finding and maintenance
- Wiring, testing and commissioning
- Roof work associated with PV installations
- Domestic and commercial projects
- Working safely and professionally on site
- Delivering a high standard of workmanship and customer service
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in Solar PV installation
- A positive, reliable and professional attitude
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Pride in delivering neat, safe and high-quality work
- Full UK driving licence preferred

* Solar Maintenance Engineers - Flexible full-time or part-time opportunity with A J Taylor Electrical
A J Taylor Electrical is continuing to grow our renewables division, and we’re looking for an experienced Solar PV Maintenance Engineer to join our team.
This role would suit someone with a strong electrical background who enjoys testing, inspection, fault finding and problem solving. It could be a great opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a more flexible role, with the option of full-time or part-time hours for the right person.
You’ll be working across Sussex, Surrey and Kent, carrying out maintenance, testing and remedial works on domestic and commercial Solar PV systems.
The role will include:
- Solar PV system testing and inspection
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Inverter testing, replacement and setup
- Battery storage checks and maintenance
- Electrical testing and certification
- Performance checks and system reporting
- Preventative maintenance visits
- Remedial works following inspections
- Customer-facing site visits
- Domestic and commercial PV systems
What we’re looking for:
- Previous Solar PV experience
- Strong electrical testing and fault-finding ability
- A methodical and professional approach
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pride in delivering safe, tidy and high-quality work
- Full UK driving licence preferred
