About the role.
As a Logistics Graduate, you’ll help us keep our inbound and outbound operation running smoothly, efficiently and with the customer firmly in mind. Over the course of the two-year programme, you will split your time across inbound and outbound. You’ll use data and insight to support the day-to-day management of carrier accounts, including performance, invoicing and payments, while spotting opportunities to improve service and cost. Working closely with teams across Logistics, Fulfilment, Supply Chain and Customer Care and external suppliers. You’ll turn complex information into clear actions that help us make better decisions and deliver better outcomes.
What you'll be doing:

Be part of the team responsible for creating reports, analysing data, and sharing insights across Inbound and Outbound Logistics.
- Help improve key business performance by monitoring data, investigating issues, and identifying ways to reduce costs and improve customer service.

Working collaboratively and proactively to establishing the data requirements and reporting needs of Logistics and business.

Develop and update actionable reports and datasets for key stakeholders using various reporting and query tools to create reporting data assets.

Work with external providers to ensure payments and invoices are correct.

Ensure the governance of data and quality is adhered to.

Follow the latest trends and developments in data visualization and, if appropriate and possible, incorporate them into their work.

Cost control and visibility: Track, validate and report inbound freight, duty, demurrage, warehousing and handling costs from origin to receipt. Reconcile carrier invoices to contracts, spot rates and service-level performance.

Responsible for month-end close for inbound logistics, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis and management reporting with clear insight and actions.

Develop KPIs and dashboards for cost per unit, on-time in-full, dwell time, container utilisation and yield. Link operational metrics to financial outcomes to drive continuous improvement

Good knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and the Power ecosystem.

Good command of Excel, and Office 365.

Experience in Logistics operations.

Knowledge of Shipping locations

Knowledge of Warehousing and returns environments.

Understanding of command coding skills: preferably SQL.

Experience working with 3rd party suppliers (which may include Delivery Carriers).

Experience in Financial processing (payments, invoicing or budget management)

You'll then be invited to complete a one-way video interview, where you'll record your responses to a series of values-based questions and submit them to our hiring team for review.
If you're successful at this stage, you'll be invited to attend a half-day Assessment Centre at our Head Office in Speke, Liverpool. During the session, you'll take part in a group exercise and complete a final behavioural interview, giving you the opportunity to showcase your skills, experience and potential.
The Assessment Centre is designed to help us gain a deeper understanding of your strengths, behaviours and future potential. It's also a chance for you to learn more about life at Very, our culture, and the customers and families we serve every day.
