Full job description

Position: Residential Support Worker for Young People aged 16+ within Supported Accommodation
Location: Enfield & Ilford, North East London (both locations are rquired)
Start Date: June / July 2026
Full-Time Salary: £2,500 – £4,000 per month (including holiday pay)

Work Patterns & Pay

We are recruiting for both Full-Time and Part-Time roles.
All applicants must be fully available to work both Days & Nights, and both Weekdays & Weekends within the ranges below.

Candidates with limited availability outside of this will not be considered.

Part-Time:

Min. Shifts per week: 1 Days & 2 Nights = £1,500 (including holiday pay)
Max. Shifts per week: 1 Days & 3 Nights = £1,940 (including holiday pay)

Full-Time:

Min. Shifts per week: 2 Days & 3 Nights = £2,500 (including holiday pay)
Max. Shifts per week: 3 Days & 5 Nights = £4,000 (including holiday pay)

Shift Structure:

Day Shift: 8am - 6pm (£130 per Shift)
Sleeping Night Shift: 6pm - 8am (Includes 7 sleeping hours, £90 per Shift)

All wages are paid monthly via PAYE, with full transparency on tax, NI, and deductions. Additional shifts are often available for staff who want extra hours.

Contract & Job Security

All staff start on a Casual Worker Contract during a 4-month probation.

After probation, successful staff will be offered Full-Time Employment Contracts with:

Paid annual leave

Essential Requirements

DBS (within last 12 months, or we will fund a new one)
NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Experience with 16–17-year-olds in care/support settings
Full flexibility for day, night, and weekend shifts
Right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor visas)
Strong English communication and ability to write professional reports (our team values clear records, especially important for regulators and local authorities)
Multi-Lingual (Desirable): Many of the Young People we support come from Eastern Europe. The ability to speak languages such as Polish, Romanian, or Albanian is a strong advantage, though not essential.

What You will Do

Mentor & Empower – help Young People (16–18) develop independence and life skills.
Independent Role – lone-working in small homes of 5–8 Young People, with 24/7 management support available.
Accompany Young People to important appointments such as college, health, or social services.
Trauma-Informed Practice – use compassion, patience, and consistency when behaviours are challenging.
Professional Records – complete daily logs, incidents, and reports on our IT system.
Safe Environment – promote responsibility and maintain clean, safe shared living spaces.
Ongoing Development – monthly supervisions with experienced managers and access to funded NVQs (Levels 3–6).

A new DBS, funded and processed by NelCare
