Full job description

Join our friendly and supportive team at Scalford Court Care Home, now under new management and ownership. We’re creating a caring, inclusive, and professional environment for both residents and staff — and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Shift times Flexible shifts starting 5–6am, ending 8–10am

About the Role

We are looking for caring, reliable and compassionate Care Assistants to support our residents with their day-to-day needs and help them live with dignity, comfort, and respect.

Main Responsibilities

Care Duties:

Support residents with all aspects of daily living, including washing, dressing, and mobility assistance.
Maintain dignity, respect, and comfort for all residents at all times.
Provide emotional and physical support, paying particular attention to those with limited mobility or cognitive difficulties.
Assist with meal times, ensuring dietary needs are met and residents are supported appropriately.
Respond promptly to call bells and assist residents as needed.
Keep residents’ rooms clean, tidy, and comfortable, and care for their clothing and belongings.
Assist in the care of residents who are approaching the end of life with sensitivity and compassion.
Maintain accurate daily records and follow care plans in line with company policies.
Promote continence and assist with toileting as needed.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and visitors.
Participate in staff meetings and handovers.

Training & Development:

Attend mandatory training and refresher courses.
Work toward NVQ qualifications in Health & Social Care (if applicable).

Health & Safety:

Follow all health and safety, fire, and infection control policies.
Report accidents, hazards, or faulty equipment promptly.
Promote safe working practices at all times.

General:

Uphold the good reputation of Scalford Court Care Home.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Ensure the security and cleanliness of the home are always maintained.
Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by senior staff.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Compassionate, patient, and understanding
A team player with a positive attitude
Reliable and willing to learn
Flexible with working hours (including weekends and evenings)
Experienced in care (preferred) or eager to train and develop

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.85 per hour
