Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Part-Time Weekend Receptionist to join our hotel team on a zero-hours contract. This role requires flexibility and availability to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays on a rotational basis, as well as covering staff holidays when needed.

As the first point of contact for guests, you will play a key role in delivering a warm welcome and ensuring a high standard of customer service.

PLEASE NOTE: The role involves working independently during quieter periods, so confidence in working alone is essential. Some bar work duties will also form part of the role.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly on arrival and provide a professional check-in/check-out experience
Answer incoming calls and respond to guest enquiries with excellent phone etiquette
Manage bookings and maintain the reservations/appointment system
Handle emails, messages, and guest correspondence efficiently
Maintain accurate guest records and carry out data entry tasks
Ensure the reception and lobby areas remain clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times
Assist guests with queries, directions, and general information about the hotel and local area
Support light bar duties, including serving drinks where required
Carry out general administrative and clerical tasks
Work independently during shifts, including opening/closing responsibilities
Provide flexible cover for holidays and additional shifts as needed

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality, reception, or customer service is preferred
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confident using computer systems, including Microsoft Office and booking systems
Good attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
Ability to work alone and use initiative when required
Flexible, reliable, and able to commit to rotational weekend shifts and holiday cover
Friendly, professional, and guest-focused with a positive attitude
