VAWG Keyworker (Somerset) – Female

The Nelson Trust is a charity dedicated to supporting women with complex needs, helping them make positive changes and live safer, more independent lives.

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) Keyworker to join our Women’s Community Services team in Somerset. This role focuses on delivering trauma-informed, gender-responsive support to women experiencing domestic abuse and/or sexual violence, often alongside multiple and complex needs. You will play a vital role in providing tailored support, advocacy and outreach to engage women who may struggle to access services.

Salary: £27,000 – £28,500 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: 28 hours - 4 days per week (flexibility required)
Pension: Auto enrolment pension (6% employer contribution)
Location: Bridgwater Women’s Centre

What will you do

Provide one-to-one support to women experiencing domestic abuse and sexual violence
Manage a caseload, including assessments, risk management and support planning
Deliver outreach support to engage women who may struggle to access services
Work with partner agencies to coordinate tailored support and advocacy
Attend multi-agency meetings, including MARAC, representing client needs
Facilitate group sessions focused on healthy relationships and recovery
Support women through the criminal justice process where required
Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and reporting

What we are looking for

A full driving license and willingness to travel across Somerset
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with women with multiple complex needs
Strong understanding of domestic abuse, sexual violence and their impacts
Experience in needs assessment, risk management and support planning
Ability to engage and build trust with women who may find services difficult to access
Confidence in managing a varied caseload and responding to crisis situations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good IT and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records
