We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our team on a weekend-shift basis. This role is initially to provide temporary sickness cover, with the potential to progress into a permanent position for the right candidate. Additional hours may also be available to support holiday and sickness cover throughout the year.

Chestnut Lodge Nursing Home, a well-established and reputable residential care facility with over 30 years of dedicated service, registered for 17 residents, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. Located in the heart of Stockton-on-Tees, Chestnut Lodge is committed to providing exceptional care to our residents, and we are looking for a qualified individual to contribute to maintaining our high standards.

Position: Registered Nurse

Location: Chestnut Lodge Nursing Home, Stockton-on-Tees

Responsibilities:

As a Registered Nurse at Chestnut Lodge Nursing Home, you will be responsible for the following:

Promoting Good Reputation: Uphold the good reputation of the Home by demonstrating professionalism and compassionate care at all times.
Efficient Home Operation: Ensure all staff contribute effectively to the efficient running of the Home, creating an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of residents.
Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior and new staff members through teaching and example.
Direct Nursing Care: Assist residents in all aspects of their care needs, providing health supervision and attention through direct nursing care when necessary.
Social and Health Care Needs: Address the social and health care needs of new residents, and conduct ongoing assessments and reviews for all residents.
Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and adherence to established protocols.
PEG Feeds: Perform PEG feeds and ensure the nutritional needs of residents with feeding tubes are met.
Regular Resident Checks: Perform regular checks on residents at intervals predetermined by the matron.
Participation in Meetings and Training: Actively participate in staff meetings, staff training, and development activities.
Record Keeping: Maintain required records as mandated by the registering authority, including the drug register.
Professional Development: Continuously maintain and improve professional knowledge.
Integrity and Confidentiality: Practice complete integrity in all dealings with residents' personal and financial affairs, ensuring confidentiality of information.
Health and Safety Policy: Adhere to the health and safety policy of the Home.
Home Security: Ensure the security of the Home is maintained at all times.
Working Hours Records: Maintain accurate records of working hours.
Community Engagement: Assist in activities to market the Home, establishing a strong presence and respect within the local community.
