The Role
The Finance Operations Associate at Imaginera is responsible for the efficient delivery of core transactional finance processes, including accounts payable, banking and cashflow activities, payroll support, and balance sheet reconciliations. This role takes ownership of key operational processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance and strong financial control, while working closely with colleagues across Finance Operations to support smooth month-end close and day-to-day operations.
The role works closely with the Finance Operations Specialist, the senior member of the team, who provides guidance, reviews key work, and oversees accuracy and process compliance. You will be expected to deliver transactional activities to a consistent, high standard, preparing work for review and escalating issues where appropriate.
You will also provide cross‑cover for controls and payroll activities during absence or peak demand.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Own end-to-end accounts payable and procure-to-pay processes, ensuring all supplier transactions are accurately recorded, approved and controlled
- Process supplier invoices, employee expenses and payment card transactions with appropriate coding, validation and policy compliance
- Prepare and execute payment runs, including BACS and payroll payments, ensuring accuracy, completeness and appropriate approvals
- Reconcile supplier statements and maintain supplier account accuracy by proactively resolving discrepancies
- Manage purchase order lifecycle and maintain audit-ready records across AP activities, including preparation of recharge data for Accounts Receivable
Banking & Cashflow
· Own bank processing and reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all cash transactions
· Maintain cash visibility through accurate records and support short-term cashflow monitoring
· Deliver bank-related month-end activities in line with close timelines
Payroll Support
- Provide payroll inputs, including employee expenses and approved adjustments
- Support payroll payment processing, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
- Maintain supporting documentation for payroll-related inputs within AP scope
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Own preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations, including accounts payable, bank accounts, accruals and expense-related balances
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis
- Maintain supporting documentation and submit reconciliations for review in line with month-end deadlines
Cross-Team Collaboration & Cover
- Collaborate with finance team members to ensure alignment between transactional activity and ledger outcomes
- Provide cover across other finance operations areas outside core responsibilities during absence or peak workload
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures and internal controls, including reporting risks or non-compliance
- Support cross-training and undertake ad hoc tasks as directed by the VP Finance and Finance Operations Specialist
Required skills & experience
· Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
· Experience in AP processing.
· Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
· Good communication and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
Desirable skills & experience
· AAT Level 2/3 or working towards.
· Experience in a dynamic finance function.
· Ability to identify process improvements.
· Positive and proactive team attitude.
Location
This is a hybrid role, based in our Oxford office with an additional office in Bristol.
