Supported Housing / Homelessness Services

Do you want to make a real difference in people’s lives?
We’re looking for a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Part time Housing Support Worker to join our team in Bradford, supporting individuals who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless and who often have additional support needs including but not limited to addiction and mental health.

Working across 3 central Bradford locations, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to regain control over their lives, maintain their tenancy with us in the short term, and secure and sustain their own permanent accommodation in the long term.

About the Role

You will:

Provide tailored one-to-one and group support to residents.
Carry out risk and needs assessments to develop individual support plans.
Promote wellbeing, harm reduction, and recovery strategies.
Build trusted, professional relationships and advocate on behalf of residents.
Collaborate with housing teams, health services, and external agencies.
Support tenancy management, conduct property inspections, and ensure safe, high-quality accommodation.
Provide initial and ongoing support to residents, including budgeting and life skills.
Maintain accurate case notes and records in line with GDPR and safeguarding policies.

This position is for 22.5 hours per week worked over three fixed days, one of the days will be Friday but we are happy to agree the other two days with the successful candidate.

What We’re Looking For

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

Experience working with vulnerable people (e.g. homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, or similar sectors).
Experience delivering support plans or risk assessments.
Experience managing challenging behaviour in a supportive environment.

Desirable

A relevant qualification in housing, social care, or support work (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3, CIH, Health & Social Care).
Experience of working with homelessness.
First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, or Safeguarding training.
Experience in multi-agency working.
Experience working within supported housing or tenancy management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Essential

Understanding of homelessness, safeguarding, and the challenges faced by vulnerable adults.
Awareness of risk assessment requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
Ability to build trust, motivate and support individuals towards independence.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload.
Ability to complete accurate reports, risk assessments, and support plans.
Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and case management systems.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Able to maintain professional boundaries and manage sensitive/confidential information appropriately.

Desirable

Knowledge of local housing systems and referral pathways.
Understanding of health and safety legislation in supported accommodation.
Awareness of harm reduction and recovery models.
Understanding of tenancy rights and responsibilities.
Familiarity with Housing Benefit/Universal Credit systems.

What We Offer

£15,600 (pro rata) £26,000 (full time equivalent) per annum
Sociable working hours between 9am and 5pm on Friday plus 2 other days.
