The Vacancy
The Health & Wellbeing Coordinator plays a central role within the People Team, in creating a healthy, inclusive and supportive workplace culture across Theatre Royal Plymouth. Working operationally, they will support and lead initiatives that promote physical, mental, social and emotional wellbeing, strengthen employee engagement, support disability and neurodiversity inclusion, and contribute to a positive employee experience for staff. The role acts as a trusted source of advice and support while driving organisation-wide wellbeing initiatives that align with TRP's values, people strategy and commitment to inclusion.
The Role
Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:
Be the wellbeing point of contact for TRP’s employees and freelancers engaged with our own productions and co–productions
Ensure that health and wellbeing support is consistently promoted and delivered across TRP locations, departments, and in-house productions
Support the People Team in the creation and implementation of Wellbeing policy and strategy
Develop and maintain effective partnership working with local health and wellbeing services, networks, early help/intervention teams and other community partners to ensure timely and effective support, signposting, referrals, and intervention that lead to successful outcomes for employees
Regularly review and evaluate wellbeing offer to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and beneficial to employees, including services such as the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and other wellbeing support initiatives
Offer Mental Health First Aid, and confidential support, advice and signposting, to staff facing or likely to face wellbeing issues, including those who experience workplace challenges or absence due to Mental Health conditions, neurodivergence, or disability.
Provide advice and support to line managers in supporting their teams’ wellbeing.
Identify need for, and lead on the delivery of, staff wellbeing initiatives such as seasonal breakout rooms, lunchtime socials etc.
Undertake regular professional development to ensure health and wellbeing practices are relevant, and that TRP is equipped to address employees’ needs Identify, develop and deliver Line Manager wellbeing and disability/neurodiversity training, and any other staff wellbeing training as needed
Manage and secure appropriate budget to support wellbeing initiatives and activities
Manage, coordinate and support wellbeing groups, for example Mental Health First Aiders and the Wellbeing Network , in line with agreed wellbeing strategies and policies
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion within their role and their wellbeing practices ensuring wellbeing activities and initiatives are accessible for all.
Regularly review data relating to health and wellbeing to inform activity and or make recommendations to the Head of People
A flexible approach to working hours which could include evening and weekends

A relevant professional qualification in the field of wellbeing would be beneficial, but we are equally interested in hearing from candidates with relevant experience.
Experience of working within a mental health or wellbeing role.
Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment legislation.
Experience of designing and delivering training appropriate to the role.
Able to work autonomously with accountability for the delivery of high-quality outputs and targets.
Experience of wellbeing at work and supporting healthy workplace initiatives.
Experience of providing a supportive and caring service and taking a proactive approach.
Successful experience contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to promote positive change.
Hold a Mental Health First Aid qualification, or be willing to undertake the training as part of the role.
