Job Summary:
As a Software Engineer Intern at Honeywell, in Yeovil, you will be supporting and developing cutting edge software solutions for the manufacturing of aerospace products.
This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months to cover a sandwich placement starting in Summer 2026, or a recent graduate, having graduated no earlier than 2025, with the possibility for a permanent opportunity at completion.

Key responsibilities:
You will work closely with experienced professionals, and be assigned a buddy, to gain hands-on experience within a friendly and supportive team to be trained to achieve the following:
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve data visibility and production performance
- Develop dashboards integrating data from IoT/SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and analysis
- Apply data analytics and AI techniques to identify failure patterns and support root cause analysis
- Analyse trends in testing, yield, and production data to drive continuous improvement
- Support development of predictive models for machine performance and production flow optimisation
Contribute to simulation tools for planning, bottleneck identification, and process optimisation

Key skills and qualifications:
- Currently studying a sandwich course degree, or graduated no earlier than 2025, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar with a passion for training and graduating in 2028
- Full right to work in the UK without the need of sponsorship
- Basic programming skills (e.g. Python, C#, or similar) and an understanding of data structures and databases (SQL or similar)
- A passion for data analytics, automation, and industrial systems
