We are looking for a Machine Operator/Senior Weaver to join our team in Sherborne.
Overall function and description of the job
To promptly attend and bring back into production newly gaited or knotted looms, or looms flagged by weavers, in order to minimise loom downtime.
Main duties:
- Check senior weaver sheet for up to date work.
- Prepare and set up newly knotted and gaited warps.
- Attend to loom smashes/multiple end breaks.
- Attend to wrong drafts and correct.
- Replace broken healds.
- Draw in additional ends for weft changes.
- Cover weavers where necessary for holidays, meal breaks and absenteeism.
- Notify any recurring issue to section leaders.
- Rotating shift work.
