Role Overview
The Client Engagement Executive plays a pivotal part in driving sustainable growth for our NFU Mutual Agency by identifying, nurturing, and qualifying high‑quality commercial opportunities. This role focuses on researching target markets, initiating first contact, building early‑stage rapport, and preparing the ground for our experienced Agent to convert prospects into long‑term, loyal clients.
You’ll be the first voice many businesses hear from our agency — so professionalism, curiosity, and consistency are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research — Identify quality commercial prospects within our target sectors using online research, local knowledge, business directories, and NFU Mutual tools. Build and maintain a structured prospect database.
- Opportunity Qualification — Assess suitability based on business type, size, risk profile, and alignment with NFU Mutual’s appetite. Prioritise high‑value opportunities.
- Contact Strategy Development — Create tailored outreach plans for each prospect, including call cadence, email touchpoints, and marketing follow‑ups.
- Telephone Prospecting — Execute structured outbound calling to introduce the agency, identify renewal dates, gather key business information, and establish early rapport.
- Email & Marketing Follow‑Up — Send professional follow‑up emails, nurture prospects over time, and maintain consistent contact to keep the agency front‑of‑mind.
- Pipeline Management — Keep accurate, timely records of all interactions, renewal dates, and next steps to ensure seamless handover to the Agent.
- Agent Appointment Booking — Arrange high‑quality appointments for the Agent once interest is established, ensuring the relationship is already warm and informed.
- Collaboration — Work closely with the Agent and wider team to refine targeting, share insights, and support local marketing initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- Communication Skills — Confident, clear, and personable telephone manner with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Research Ability — Strong online research skills and the ability to identify relevant business information efficiently.
- Organisation — Excellent time management, pipeline tracking, and follow‑up discipline.
- Commercial Awareness — Understanding of business structures, sectors, and insurance needs (training provided).
- Resilience — Comfortable with outbound calling, handling objections, and maintaining momentum.
- CRM Competence — Ability to update and manage prospect data accurately.

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
