Company: Sumac Precision Engineering Ltd

Due to an increased long-term order book, Sumac Precision Engineering is seeking Skilled

CNC Machinists to join our team at our Weymouth facility.

We are looking for Fully Skilled CNC Millers (preferably with Heidenhain or Fanuc

experience) and Fully Skilled CNC Turners (preferably with Fanuc experience) to

programme, set, and operate a range of CNC machining centres. This is a fantastic

opportunity to join a growing team committed to high-quality precision engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

Programming, setting, and operating CNC machines to produce precision

components

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

Ensuring parts meet required tolerances and quality standards

Performing routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machinery

Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Working collaboratively with Quality and Production teams to meet deadlines and

targets

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for practical, experienced machinists who are confident working to tight

tolerances in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Essential:

Fully skilled CNC Milling or Turning experience

Programming, setting, and operating capabilities

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset

Excellent problem-solving skills

Self-motivated with a professional work ethic

Desirable:

Experience with Heidenhain (Milling) or Fanuc (Turning/Milling) control systems

Background in low to medium batch production

Previous experience in the Aerospace, Defence, or Medical sectors

Minimum of 39 hours per week

Core working hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am to 1 pm Friday

Excellent rates of pay available for the right candidates.
