The Opportunity
The Communications Officer will work within our Communications Service – a small team of communications professionals with responsibility for communicating the role and aspirations of the CA to residents, businesses, as well as government. Working collaboratively across internal teams and external stakeholders, the postholder will lead the planning and delivery of communications campaigns across the transport portfolio.
This is a secondment opportunity for 9 months. We are seeking someone with experience in public sector communications, delivering integrated campaigns and consultations, and it would be desirable that the ideal candidate has an understanding of transport communications and policy.
Key Responsibilities:

Delivery of statutory consultations including Local Transport Plan
- Lead and delivery of transport communications priorities including £1 bus fare, and concessionary fairs, and Active Travel plans
- Work closely with colleagues across Transport, the constitution councils, transport stakeholders and government departments
- Produce content for CA communications channels, including case studies, websites, email marketing, social media, press releases, and newsletters and publications.
