Job Summary

Are you an experienced registered nurse seeking a new challenge? Do you have the skills and enthusiasm to help lead a team in a fast-paced haematology environment? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are recruiting a Band 6 junior sister/charge nurse to join Ward J89 in the Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital. The unit comprises 20 beds and provides specialist care for patients with a wide range of malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions.

The Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit is dedicated to delivering exceptional standards of care for patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants, CAR-T therapy, and intensive chemotherapy treatments for various forms of leukaemia.

Our patients and their families often face complex and demanding treatment journeys, requiring a team that is compassionate, adaptable, and highly skilled. Working closely with the senior sister, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting patients, relatives, colleagues, and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will share our commitment to providing a personalised patient experience and understand the importance of supporting and developing the team that delivers this care.

The ward is located within the Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital, a purpose-built cancer centre that opened in 2008 and offers state-of-the-art facilities to support exceptional cancer care.
