TRANSPORT MANAGER QUALIFICATION NEEDED

OFFICE AND DAY TO DAY RUNNING OF THE BUSINESS NEEDED

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our logistics and transportation activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the movement of goods, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with strong leadership and communication skills to contribute to the optimisation of our supply chain processes.

Duties

Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily transportation operations to meet organisational objectives
Manage a team of drivers and logistics staff, providing guidance and support to optimise performance
Oversee scheduling of deliveries and collections, ensuring timely and cost-effective routes
Maintain accurate records of shipments, vehicle maintenance, and driver logs using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth communication and resolve any logistical issues
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, transport legislation, and company policies
Analyse transportation data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction
Implement IT solutions to streamline logistics processes and enhance overall productivity
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and ensure fleet safety standards are met

Experience

Proven management experience within logistics or supply chain environments
Strong driving background with knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
Extensive experience in logistics planning, route optimisation, and supply chain management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with good IT literacy skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Strong leadership qualities combined with exceptional communication skills in English
Customer service orientation with the ability to handle stakeholder queries professionally
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
