Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our optical practice, ensuring that patients receive exceptional service and care. This position requires a blend of technical skills and customer service abilities, making it ideal for individuals passionate about eye care and helping others.

Responsibilities

Assist optometrists and opticians in providing high-quality eye care services to patients.
Prepare patients for examinations by performing pre screening
Help in the fitting and adjustment of eyewear, including spectacles and contact lenses.
Provide guidance to patients regarding the selection of frames and lenses based on their needs.
Manage patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Educate patients on proper care for their eyewear and contact lenses.
Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall patient experience.

Skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
Attention to detail with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Proficiency in using optical equipment and technology is an advantage but not mandatory as training will be provided.
