Role Summary
As a BDX Technician, you will be responsible for the accurate processing of premium bordereaux for delegated authority business, ensuring the timely settlement of payments to and from Coverholders and carriers. The role is crucial for maintaining financial integrity, supporting credit control and providing accurate reporting to internal teams and external stakeholders. This is a highly data-driven and finance-focused role, combining bordereaux management with operational payment processing and reconciliation.
Role Accountabilities
- Receive, validate and reconcile premium bordereaux from Coverholders.

Ensure bordereaux data aligns with contract terms and premium allocations

Identify and resolve discrepancies with Coverholders or internal systems before payment processing.

Maintain accurate records of all bordereaux submissions and validations

Process premium payments based on validated bordereaux data, ensuring accuracy of amounts, allocations and settlement instructions.

Investigate and resolve any payment discrepancies or unmatched entries in collaboration with finance and operations teams.

Provide ad hoc reporting for brokers, underwriters, finance, and compliance teams as required

Act as the primary point of contact for coverholders regarding premium and claims payments and bordereaux queries.

Collaborate with finance, operations and brokers to ensure smooth payment cycles.

Support coverholders in understanding submission requirements and resolving repeated data or payment issues.
- Any additional duties as assigned.
Role Requirements
- Experience in bordereaux management with a focus on premium payment processing within a London Market broker and or MGA.

Strong understanding of Lloyd’s processes and systems, including experience working within the Lloyd’s market framework.

Demonstrable knowledge of the Lloyd’s Delegated Authority 5.2 Coverholder Standards and their practical application in day-to-day operations.
Skills and Abilities
- Confident in dealing with external clients, including coverholders, underwriters, and third-party partners, with a professional and proactive communication style.

Proven ability to manage own workload and priorities in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight reporting and payment deadlines.

Competence in reconciling large data sets and handling bordereaux accurately.

Understanding of delegated authority contracts and terms, particularly premium collection settlement rules.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues on all levels.
