Job Summary
A self-employed Will Writer is responsible for providing professional estate planning services to clients, specialising in drafting and preparing legally binding wills. This role requires a high level of organisational ability, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in relevant software tools. The successful candidate will work independently, managing their own schedule while ensuring all legal and ethical standards are met. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to build a reputable practice within the estate planning industry.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to understand their estate planning needs and provide tailored advice
Draft, prepare, and review wills, ensuring compliance with current legal requirements
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and documentation
Utilise Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook to manage documents and correspondence efficiently
Manage your own schedule to optimise client appointments and deadlines
Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation relevant to estate planning and wills
Provide clear, professional communication to clients throughout the process
Organise appointments and follow-ups to ensure a smooth client experience

Experience

Proven experience in legal document preparation or estate planning is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
Knowledge of IT systems relevant to document management and client correspondence
Demonstrated ability to work independently with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Experience in client-facing roles or consultancy services is desirable but not mandatory
