No 2 days are ever the same at AGL and this makes working at AGL a challenging and interesting proposition. Yes, there are times when it's busy but, there is genuine support within our teams and a culture of succeeding together. The business is ever growing and, with this, comes real opportunity for job progression for those team members who have a strong work ethic and demonstrate our company values. There is a clear performance review structure at AGL, alongside regular, formal opportunities for team members to discuss all aspects of their role and employment. AGL offers a wide range of staff benefits and even has social committees who organise fun activities for all team members to enjoy. In my time at AGL, I have genuinely never had a day where I didn't want to go to work and this is something which I have experienced in previous employment. In any job, it's what you make it and AGL is a great company to work for if you want it to be that.

Sadly I would advise most people to avoid this company- there is no support from management- no help or advice - they have a new trainer who is never on site and leaves the trainees with out support - management haven’t got a clue quick to send emails of where you have gone wrong but they don’t know what your meant to be doing - There are no benefits - no regular 1-1’s - call audits are all over sadly depending on who marks the calls comes down to what score you get - There are better companies to work for with better attitudes to employees and also much nicer approach- better conditions elsewhere and better support - No promotion within is not possible they bring management in from outside who then do not learn the job but seem to be what the company wants which will s hard to watch when experience counts for nothing all because they don’t want to put anytime into their people - I am happier since leaving the toxic environment really affected how it makes you feel as a person. 

This is the worst company I have ever had the unfortunate experience of working for!  I have been in the motor trade for over 20 years, and a full member of all the top engineering institutes, they have a culture of promoting unskilled and unqualified employees to top positions, the culture is very negative especially towards clients they service and employees (especially those of ethnic backgrounds!) they will use you and their clients for their own gains, This is a quick buck company-one you should avoid and one that won’t be around long

Avoid this place it’s not worth the hassle!

You have been warned 

The flexibility of this place is second to none, and you can branch into other roles, I can only praise them on that. However, workshop is a continuous health hazard, upper management are power crazy, rude and entitled, people in northern branches are paid more even though the cost of living is less and on top of that they hold back hours so you’ll never hit the bonus that they’re pushing you to get. Cars get rushed out unfinished and 2/3 come back, if you need a clip you’re told to ‘make do’ instead of ordering the right ones, and there’s a lack of equipment. There’s a reason the staff rotation is so high. Management and HR will disagree with the issues and cover up any problems in the business. 

When I joined sopp+sopp 2018, the shift patterns was perfect 9-5 with good pay and it was very sustainable, but since it was taken over by AGL, they decided to do 4 days on and days off and doing 12 hours a shift, which I did not enjoy at all doing, can be very stressful and the support wasn’t there as much as the managers just wanted you to crack on and deal with it. 

If you the type of person where you can deal with this shift pattern and constantly looking at the screen and dealing with lots of inbound call then this is job for you but other than that you just look track of your social life..

This poorly managed company do not appreciate their staff. They expect you to go above and beyond and when you do, it will not be acknowledged. I cannot say there is an enjoyable thing about this job. Almost every month they ask for what they can improve on within the company, however when you give your suggestions, those also do not get acknowledged. Unless you are in high management here, you don't matter - it is impossible to get into high management so don't bother, there's no progression here. 

Shocking company, has no idea what they’re doing or how to handle the workloads. Staff needs are vocalised but never actioned on. 12 hour shift but only allowed 10 minutes toilet break all day and the toilets are at the other side of the building. Colleagues suffer burnout frequently. If management don’t think your face fits it’s impossible to progress any further within the business. Worked there for 9 months and had probation extended due to a family member being terminally ill before ultimately having probation terminated. 10/10 would avoid.

Start work early, finishing jobs to a very high standard, then no work for the remaining of the day, weather 1 or 4 hours. Loosing potential bonus thats already been made.
Management - immediate management very poor with no experience as a technician in the past, higher management incompetent with unrealistic targets, targets with not enough work to hit them and giving existing work to other branches to bump their targets up.
Learned nothing new.
Very low team workmanship.
Sitting around with no work to do after being very efficient.
Going home.


What is the best part of working at the company?
Some really great people to work with, it has it's issues but it feels like they care

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As with most companies, workload and deadlines dictated by budgets and budgets dictated by those who have no idea how the company works.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Certain parts are fantastic, some are not. It depends who you are and what team you are in. I know some parts can be toxic but others are amazing to work in.

The colleagues in FRT are lovely although,  the company itself is diffuse and overly ambitious there is a huge turn over of staff most people don't work here for long as they find better pay and management elsewhere. The work load is unsustainable as the is a huge amount of big brand customers with a measly amount of staff.
