What is the best part of working at the company?
I work as a manager at Aaron House in Penicuik and my experience has been extremely positive. From the outset, I felt genuinely supported by senior management, who are approachable, responsive, and always willing to offer guidance when needed. There is a strong sense that managers are trusted, valued, and backed to do their roles well.

The induction process was robust and well-structured, giving me the time, knowledge, and confidence to settle into my role properly. Expectations were clear, training was meaningful, and support was consistent throughout.

Aaron House has a very positive culture. There is a strong focus on teamwork, respect, and person-centred care, with staff encouraged to share ideas and continuously improve practice. It is clear that both staff wellbeing and high-quality care are priorities.

Overall, Aaron House is a supportive and well-led workplace where people are encouraged to grow, feel valued, and deliver the best possible care. I would highly recommend it as a place to work.

Resident care is excellent and truly person-centred. Working in care can naturally have its moments of pressure, particularly when supporting residents with complex needs or managing busy periods. However, these moments are balanced by a strong sense of teamwork and support. The work is genuinely enjoyable and rewarding, and knowing the positive difference you make to residents’ lives every day makes any stress worthwhile.

The culture across the organisation is positive, supportive, and values both staff and residents. This is reflected in open communication, strong leadership, and a shared commitment to high standards of care. Within Aaron House specifically, the culture is excellent. There is a real sense of teamwork, mutual respect, and pride in the work we do, creating a welcoming and motivating environment for both staff and residents

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day is varied, fast-paced, and rewarding. It involves supporting staff, overseeing resident care, liaising with families and professionals, and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the home. No two days are the same, and there is real satisfaction in seeing residents well cared for and the team working positively together.

What is the best part of working at the company?
As a care assistant, I have learned many new skills. I receive ongoing training, have supportive colleagues, and a good manager, which makes the workplace positive and rewarding.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The work environment is very supportive, so I don’t experience any significant stress while working here.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
As a beginner in the UK, I was welcomed and accepted, which made the work environment very supportive and inclusive.

An ever increasing workload caused by prior poor management and lack of continuing support.  The entire management team changes almost monthly, and no-one stays due to senior managements heavy handling of situations which could be managed on-site. When you do need help it's hardwork to find the right person and even they do not work with you. The staff at the care home are hardworking and care about the home. 

As a remote worker the flexibility that the role gives me is perfect for my work life balance. I am able to give dedicated time to the homes & have the ability to meet with the awesome teams who are supporting our residents either in person or virtually.

The company are changing and embedding practices to benefit resident care throughout all services.
The Team I work with all have the same ethos and standards

As in any role, the role is fast pace

The culture at Aurem is positive

When I worked here the staff was unprofessional, talking to each other over the residents in a different language, the routine was all over the place especially at breakfast and lunch,nurses had to help every day with lunches which puts the nurses behind with their tasks. The infection control was out the window and so was moving and handling residents without the appropriate equipment.

Good management and great carers

Very stressful of we are short of staff

Days are busy but with a good team it’s great to work for the company

From experience and observation, Aurem are unable to get the basics right at ground level. They are constantly changing management and structure, leading to poor performance in running care homes. 

Unsupportive management and HR. Disgusting values. Play staff off each other. Its says you get your meals included in the job breakdown, thats laughable as you dont and your lucky if you get a break. If you are lucky enough to grab a quick break management ask why you are sat down.

The co-worker are very friendly and work environment is very good.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When the residents are in emergency situation, all the workers feel the stress.
