Navigating my typical day at work has been challenging due to a lack of clear tasks and guidance from my managers. Often, I feel like I've been assigned what I refer to as "donkey work"—tasks that seem menial without any context of their importance.

When I attempt to step up and fulfill my responsibilities, I am met with questions and rejections, which can be disheartening. Sharing my perspective has often felt unproductive; my feedback does not appear to be taken seriously or constructively.

In team meetings, when I try to question my tasks or seek clarification, I’ve experienced bullying rather than support. This has contributed to my feeling of isolation, especially during my probation period where I didn’t receive the proper guidance I needed to succeed.

Overall, I can honestly say that my experience under my manager, Andy, the Operational Manager, has been lacking in direction. Unfortunately, this has made my time at the company the most challenging I’ve ever experienced.



I don’t like to be negative but sometimes you have to . This is probably the worst job I have ever taken in 30 years in hospitality. 
The lack of care and standards is indescribable along with the lack of management and when you do speak to management the answers are so unprofessional and out of touch with the real world and the scope of your job description.
Equipment doesn’t work the kitchen had a constant flood that was never fixed . They don’t seem to be able to keep the staff for a long period of time and after my experience I can see why . I know they will respond to this review but after going to hr to report my concerns they showed the same lack of care and duty as the management. Sometimes shaking up the managers as they have been there to log is a good thing to progress a business areas of plodding along not caring . 

I worked there for 9 months, I never got bored in the work as there are so many different people keep checking in the hotel and at the same time so many events happening, which keeps you active and refreshes your mind. The different departments ```(restaurant, reception, bar, housekeeping, spa etc.````) are interconnected well by the guidance of the management, and even if I was in the food & beverage sector, it is also interesting to work with all of them on a day to day basis.
 Long hours are the hardest part of the job, however they are associated with the culture of hospitality, and if you understand this then you can work professionally and at the same time have fun and enjoy what you are doing.  

...I was a KP on a small team of 3 but had daily interaction  with all the chefs and waiting staff . I lived in the Cotswolds so I already knew about the beautiful building and gardens -But what came as a very pleasant surprise was how friendly the staff are and how welcoming they are to all nationalities , ages etc... Also , during my time as KP other opportunities arose for carreer development within the company - Another big plus for me was that I found the management to be very approachable , very reasonable and very capable in all my dealings with them - In short , my time as KP has been such a positive experience

I used to work at Minster Mill next to Witney for some time, and only what I can say is: don't waste your life for this place....
Stunning place and location, but that's it what is amazing about this place, unfortunately.
Very long hours, very poor communication, none existing management, underpaid staff, don't paid overtime, chef working all day long sometimes without break, all the time there is problem with something (people forgetting about functions or booked parties...)...
All the time staff rotation, especially in the kitchen (most of the time agency chefs cause no one is interested to come and work for this company)


If it wasn't for your work colleages, life would have been unbearable. 
A culture of good but not good enough. When things get tough theres always someone to blame for it and its certainly not the management, whom appear to just be there to tick boxes and serve themselves! Any reasonable good ideas you put forward get shelved or blatantly ignored. If you want to be treated like a child in an untrustworthy manner and paid shockingly for the workload and responsibility, then this is the place for you!

Hotel manager is cleaning rooms, head gardener is doing night shifts, restaurant manager is doing maintenance.. minimum pay, no appreciation.  Worst CEO and Head office you'll ever encounter. Completely unrealistic demands, constantly short of staff. No loyalty scheme to reflect pay reviews, staff over 5 years are still on living wage.

I would recommend anyone looking at hospitality to look at moving to this hotel brand i had pleasure in working for a great manager and some great people made me very welcome and was looked after by all management i came in touch with i left because i wanted to be closer to home and also less days and hours but i would recommend this place to work i was at slaughters i would definitely return if they have me back

I worked as part of the central support team and enjoyed my time at Brownsword Hotels. It is a 24/7 business so it is always busy, but that is expected for any hotel business.
The relationship between central support and the hotel teams was easy despite the distance of some. The General Managers and heads of departments were very friendly and it was great to work alongside them to help keep the central functions running smoothly.

Friendly staff and very welcoming , supportive and hard working , Our hotel manager has made a positive and great impact on all team members in all department.  My favorite part of working is the training and learning new  ticks to the trade - i  have learn a lot here coming from a larger hotel - Its much more personal work environment - between ourselves and the guests.
