Felsted-School

Working as activity staff gave me lots of new skills. However, the job itself is extremely stressful and when you divide up how much you’re actually getting It is basically crumbs compared to how much the school makes as a whole. You get below minimum wage in fact, good but really bad in terms of pay in correspondence to all the things you need to do. 

My least favourite aspect of the job was the organisation and the environment, there was a lot of nepotism my prediction is that at least 95% of the staff that were hired already attended the school, although most of the staff members were nice there was a lot of passive aggression and exclusion from work group chats which included information that I needed to know to complete the task for the evening. 

Workplace culture: It was crazy, apparently the rules only apply to people outside of the ‘cliche’ which is just messed up to say the very least. 
I felt like I was in a glass bubble. Very incesty didn't like the vibe at all. 
Most enjoyable part of the job was when I got to speak and hang out with the few people that I managed to really gel with, the international students were also interesting to interact with! Also some  of the staff were very helpful and supportive when you needed help. 

In conclusion it's a good job to put yourself out of your comfort zone but one of those experiences that is a one time thing and NEVER again. Too much immaturity and lack of organisation. People older than me acting like thirteen year olds, just sad.


I had a wonderful four years working at the school and did a whole range of roles from teaching, supporting, sports coaching, boarding duties etc. As someone with lots of interests, I was very much able to embrace these. The staff are warm and friendly and I made some of my closest friends there.  Students are generally well-mannered and polite with very few behaviour issues.  Parents have equally been lovely when I have met them. There's a strong international community at Felsted and this is celebrated with an exceptional International Dinner organised by the Head of EAL.  There are lots of evening events to attend and the catering team do an amazing job with these.  Lots of traditional features to the school including the wearing of gowns on speech days etc which all adds to the charm of the place.  Could not recommend working there enough.  

Having worked for Felsted for several years, there is a real community feel to ensuring every student achieves his/her very best across all subjects and extra curricular activities. The management team feel very passionate about the Schools aims and ethos and those in leadership continue to ensure there is excellent employee engagement 

Overall a great place to work with excellent benefits.

Was pleasure working with sophisticated individuals everyday who never failed to make my day interesting and exciting.  Most enjoyable part of my day was to meet new students and watch them progress on their individual subjects and to start their journey upon adulthood.

Such a great place to work and lovely people to work with. The only let down for me is the low pay and no chance to get promotion within the school unless your a teacher or manager who tend to recruit within if your in the click . Apart from that I would recommend working for FELSTED school 

This job is perfect for anyone. It would be brilliant for someone who would like to earn extra money on top of another job or if you are a student looking for flexible hours. All staff are friendly and approachable and it is a pleasure to work with them.

and fixing.  i also learned how to use different cnc machines

Staff are Nice to work with helpful and informative of what you have to do..
Would have liked more hours but none available at the time..
Pay minimum wage which wasn't so great 
Not really any scope to advance any further .

Really good place to work.colleagues are helpful,management let you do your job with minimal intervention and very well mannered pupils and good perks too.
