Working at The George can be challenging, dealing with customers, colleagues, and the day to day running of the pub/restaurant. An average day consists of providing good customer service both in the bar and the restaurant, meeting the individuals needs and making their visit a pleasant one. Different jobs in both the bar and the restaurant need to be done all day at different times, doing these jobs is important but the customer is more important. Working at the George is a learn on the job and you are constantly putting new skills to good use. In this job you learn whats ok and whats not ok to say, how to deal with different types of people and a good skill you pick up is time management. The management at the George are always there for you when you need them to be and will help you as and when you need it. The people I work with are full of different characters and are a great bunch of people. We work together to hopefully please each and every visitor. The hardest part of the job is dealing with unhappy customers-sometimes you get put in difficult positions where you don't know what to say! The most enjoyable part is the customer interaction, you get to know certain people they come in as a customer and leave as friends.

Trained in health and safety, customer service and food hygiene. 
Worked behind bar, providing customers with great service.
Provided front-of-house support by waiting tables and taking orders.
Cleaned glassware and tables during serving hours and washed the bar post closing.
Coped well during busy times, including the Rugby World Cup home matches when customers became disorderly due to alcohol consumption.
Learnt a lot about customer relations and communication.

Just your average run of the mill oswestry town pub, delightful when the regulars came in for a meal, There was only two of us there and she was top cook.
The management was moderate, the place as now improved with new management in charge, but sadly no kitchen.  
The most enjoyable part for myself was being at the bar as it boosted my confidence a lot. I also enjoyed the cleaning and cooking

• Assisted the project team on a daily basis resolving field-initiated questions and facilitating coordination with subcontractors
• Provided inspection of subcontractors works and monitored the windows installation process on the site
• Skills learned: programme management, construction management, coordination skills

very good place to work. breaks are good.Hard work but can have fun.  When I got my own department it was much better as you have ownership and take more of an interest. setting up for sales is good and working alone as well as in a team is beneficial
