What is the best part of working at the company?
I enjoyed working at lotus for 18 months but as agency worker with promises of contract. it is a fine place to work apart from the management  not  be able to do there job there is a difference between working in production for 30 years and managing a company and Lotus have not got it right So many problems appear on the shop floor because they don’t sort before it gets there All agency workers were offered a job Automatically if they had work there but we were ask by our supervisor not managements to apply for a job advertised so me and others did this We were then sent a email for a job interview on the day it was cancelled as they said it was a mistake and we were sent a normal email say we were unsuitable for the position offer so they never even looked at our application otherwise they would have seen we were already doing the job they ask for and was still So I replied to this we were then sent a email apologising for the previous email and it should have never happened end result still no contract So I have decided to leave As no security here just promise 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Time sensitive operations  and  same thing day in day out

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great supervisor great worker on the line I loved it there Cafe and a canteen with microwaves and free drinks machines for tea coffee

I have enjoyed my work and the people whom work on shop floor

Most of the days at Lotus are challenging. There are constantly new goals and objectives that have to be achieved in a really tight time scale. 

Everything I have learned Engineering-wise has been in this company, but I have had the chance to get involved in different areas of the business and see some projects start, grow and finish.

Although the management should be a bit more confident with the engineering experience, the difficult position they have is to admire. 

I have always tried to help and support all my colleagues, as they have with me in order to succeed with the objectives.   

The hardest part of the job is achieving the objectives, in the tight time frame, with the absolutely minimum resources. However, having  this situation makes it challenging.

The most enjoyable part of the job is to be surrounded by professionals that always are keen to share their knowledge, making you gain experience and growing in a daily basis.

Terrible place to work.  A company that has no sense of direction and has absolutely no job security or regard for hard work.
I worked here for 18 months as an agency worker and was told from the beginning that this would lead to full time employment. Learned multiple sections in the factory and even trained up new employees, was considered by my team leader to be a multi skilled operative but still was not offered a contract of employment. HR have absolutely no idea what is going on with the business and neither do any of the managers. All they want to do is hit there targets to get there bonuses. Just getting by year by year with any means necessary. Nobody can be trusted in this company, any college will stab you in the back at any given opportunity just to try and better themselves. 
Would avoid working for this company at all costs!

Promised Over-Time 
Told your working this and that Friday and to cancel all our plans for that day then get told throughout the week that the Over-Time had been Cancelled

The work  environment was very clean and tidy

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Each and everyday was never the same at Lotus. Some days the manufacturing would run consistently, but on other days you could build two cars and not our car for several hours due. to parts and organisation from the management team?

•	Creation of models and drawings for both details and assemblies, 3D Solid Modelling. 2D Details.

•	Responsible for managing related documentation, change notes, drawing issue and database

•	Responsible for the correct release of the parts into the system, and supporting the other departments of the company with appropriate reporting.

•	Defining  volume and material and calculation of weight and center of gravity

•	Responsible for the production of drawings, models, assembly models

•	Checking drawing and adjust design according to final decision of team

•	3D design, assembly and simulation in CATIA V5 software

•	Liaison with testing areas and assembly line.

Operated as first point of contact for After-Sales/Customer Service EU dealer network.
Supported 3 Territory Managers and 2 Field Service Engineers.
Supported the After-Sales Training Officer on European dealer technical training courses.
Assisted other internal departments when required (Legal, Sales, Finance, Accounts).
Consolidated and followed-up Export consignments to send After-Sales parts to Worldwide Dealers

The most enjoyable part of the job was to work with customers and dealers at the same time.

The uncertainty of the job , being promised a full contract for the entire time I was there but never received one

It is a very stressful environment with high expectations without being given enough parts to meet any targets

Very stressful as mentioned in my previous answer

There is a hierarchy at Lotus in which your position dominates your work life - if you are under a certain point you become a floormat, above that point you have clean shoes. 

Any company that believes they are supplying work for someone as a favour, or that the worker should feel proud to work at Lotus -using these things as an excuse to pay below industry standards rates - is never going to have a happy workforce.

Do NOT get me started on that draconian "Flexi-time" system plainly designed to rip workers off whilst allowing the company up to `50 hours of free labour...


4.5 day week , starting at 6.30am to 16.30 . Pay isn't the best. 26k for a general operative . Holidays are usually reserved for 2 shutdowns , one in May and a 2 week shutdown in August . Work is repetitive . Pros are you get to work with a good workforce , friendly and helpful . Supervisors are ok , as well as lower management . Never really see the upper management , unless it's more redundancies . Communication should and could be better. Running out of parts is frustrating , as the line just stops. Current economic climate is not helpful and the fear of being laid off is always there .

Very good the environment is constantly improving within a wonderful culture ethos
