I left the Army and started working for Hotelplan immediately.  I was made to feel right at home straight away.  A very friendly atmosphere and approachable management at all levels.  Always had an open door policy.  Management were happy to listen and discuss matters with all staff.  Regular collective updates given.  I learned to be a lot more patient as a manager.  I found matters / concerns of others thinking they were important of which I thought were trivial, very frustrating at times.  No part of the job was difficult as I was able to prioritise the workload accordingly.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The office was easily accessible and the commission is ok 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Higher management are unsupportive and give no direction. The company is very, very clicky. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is terrible, the management including the HR lady are rude, obnoxious and unprofessional

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Constantly being watching and criticised, lack of support and guidance

Worked in the company for nearly 3 years, even having covid as a huge killer to travel we were supported by our parent company though the whole thing.

My team were fantastic to work with and going to miss them, learnt a lot over my time with the company.

Only thing I can say was progression wasn’t as fast as I hoped for.


Terrible company, awful managers, bullying. No training or career progession.  Lack of appraisals.  Expect lots of unpaid overtime.  A company doesnt invest in their employees.  Heard they are making over 100 redundant and closing Godalming Head Office and squeezing everyone into sister company offices at Farnborough. Will be very cramped.

Don’t work here unless you actually need a job. Management was poor, would ask for help and never receive it. Equipment would constantly break or not work properly. Cafeteria was on the other side of where you was by the time you got there break was over.

The company has a can do culture.
It is focused on employee training and is socially aware.
They offer holiday based incentives, as they are a travel company that are a really nice advantage.

Hotelplan is a great place to work for an introduction into the Travel Industry. I've learnt a lot since working here with many opportunities to extend travel experience. Friendly and outgoing office.

Enjoyed working here - good perks with travelling to check out properties and resorts. Would recommend working here though parking is an issue so better off getting the train

My day is very quiet, I work in an office alone normally, I like it.

I go on placement on average 20% of the time to assist in the management of Hotels or Chalet resorts. I run terminal 2 at Geneva on a Saturday.
