Melton-Borough-Council

During my time on The Prince's Trust Team Programme, we were set a task to complete a community project that involved fundraising, working with different groups within the community and renovating the sensory garden in the country park working alongside the county council. On this project, I learned that the county council are very collaborative and efficient with gathering parts needed for the sensory garden and having staff outside staff member to help complete it. Every time, we went to contact the council, they were nothing but helpful, kind and understanding of our needs and ambitions in completing the project which we did successfully and positively. Would highly recommend working with them, as staff are friendly, overall making the experience a memorable and enjoyable one.

a typical day within customer services can be very stressful especially at important times of the year however the people I work with re always very helpful and willing to put the customer first.

Being at the council has provided me with more knowledge on horticulture as well providing me with new skills and qualities. The job has also changed my perspective on the importance of looking after the local community and wildlife.

Nothing special . Manager was fine being able to work flexibly was the highlight . 
Friendly enough but not diverse. Traditional thinkers and processing which declines innovation

Councillors are backward and bigoted; unbalanced and blinkered plus a tendency to believe they have power over anyone who has any contact with MBC. Surreal.

average day consists of face to face, and dealing with customer calls. Have learnt a lot about government procedures and policies.

Working with children was very rewarding. I learned how to communicate with different types of staff and children. I also learned how to manage teams.
