The hours are ridiculous from 7 am to 5 pm but there is also the requirement to work weekends and evenings. 
There is no sick pay whatsoever whether you are on the books or not, so if you can't work due to illness don't expect to be paid anything. I found this out the hard way after I queried this with their HR department and was told they have no sick pay scheme at all. You can get paid stat sick pay for longer periods of time but they require you to fill out a form and return it with a doctor's note and other such information to prove your reasons. 
Workplace culture is cliquey at best with groups that have clearly been there the longest and can do whatever they like whenever they like and the newcomers have to pick up the slack without a word. Management allows this to happen and will continue to allow this to happen so there is no point even mentioning anything to them. I will say there are some brilliant members of staff there and some people I would consider to be helpful and supportive, there are also some that I can only describe as class clowns that never fully grew up. 
I learnt a lot whilst I was there but I would have learnt the same at a similar company as what I did was fairly easily understandable and isn't something you couldn't have learnt anywhere else. 

If I had anything to say to people looking for a job at this place, take it with a pinch of salt and maybe look elsewhere before applying, apply as a last resort. My mental health took a real beating here and they claim to support you but they don't and they'll get rid of you as soon as they see any reason to no matter how small.

Poor Client Relations: When a company’s management fails, it often reflects in customer or client satisfaction. Missed deadlines, poor service quality, or lack of client engagement may result in a tarnished reputation and loss of business.

Resistance to Change: If Ocus’ management is rigid and unwilling to adapt to industry trends or internal feedback, the company may struggle to remain competitive, falling behind more innovative competitors.

In summary, poor management at Ocus could lead to misaligned goals, inefficiencies, low employee morale, and deteriorating client relationships, all of which would severely impact the company's growth and sustainability.

A typical day at work
A typical day involved going through vehicle defects reported on Samsara, responding to emails, fitting and removing trackers and dash cams, and arranging vehicle services and MOTs.

What I believe I learned
I learned how to fit and remove trackers and gained a better understanding of vehicle operator responsibilities.

Management
The manager was lovely and approachable, but overall there could have been better follow-through when support and guidance were promised.

Workplace culture
The workplace culture was not the best, to be honest. It could feel cliquey at times, and some staff came across as abrupt, dismissive and difficult to work with.

The hardest part of the job
The hardest part of the job was dealing with ignorant team members and not always getting the support that had been promised.

The most enjoyable part of the job
The most enjoyable part was learning practical new skills, particularly fitting and removing trackers, and gaining more knowledge about the operational side of the role.

At the beginning it went very well. Very quick job offer, decent salary, lots of praise from senior management, very positive one to one meetings, probation period reduced for good reasons. You get the idea.

Then you feel that you can trust people. And that’s the biggest mistake you can make.

The company decided to change our contract conditions. More hours, on call duty, wider responsibilities, all for the same salary. Was told by senior management and HR that if anyone had any concerns, objections or questions, then we could raise them without consequence. So I did. Next meeting everyone said the right things. They would support the transition, they would look at different roles, etc.

I still felt comfortable at this point and had unofficial friendly chats with management regarding this. At the next official meeting this was thrown back in my face, contract was terminated and was told a taxi was waiting for me downstairs.

My experience is typical of the company. Whether you are warehouse or admin staff, a coordinator, supervisor, project manager or senior management, your role is not safe. One day you’re working away as normal, the next you’re heading home for the most pitiful and obscure reasons, feeling disgusted in yourself that you trusted people

My day starts with a cup of coffee, and then I go through my calendar, preparing myself for all the meetings and tasks scheduled for that day. When I have questions, I either go to CoPilot or make good use of the experienced hands around me. I have learnt a lot about bringing a project to life, all the way from the conception stage to actual delivery on site. The management has been very supportive and attentive to my person, while also not overburdening me with a tonne of workload from the jump. I feel part of the team and look forward to being here for a very long time. I would say the hardest part of my job is getting used to some of the technical terms that are very new to me. The most enjoyable would be the satisfaction that comes with completing the tasks that have been assigned to me, to the satisfaction of my superiors. 

I used to work in Head Office in Stockport in Purchase Ledger. I'm glad I left. It was one of the most stressful and mentally exhausting workplaces I've ever experienced.
I joined OCU, because they came across as a hard-working bunch and a company with vision and purpose. 
1st dissapointment was on my 1st day of work, when it turned out they hired a 2nd person for the same role as me. This was not communicated to me on my job interview nor when signing the contract (This was senior / TL role).
And then basicaly it turned out that I was doing something different than what was in job descriptio and what was discussed in my interview.
What I found most stressful was that you were not allowed to make literally any mistakes and everything had to be perfect. There was a culture of fear. Also a lot of talking behind your back. Everyday I would come back home and complain to my partner how bad it was. When I finally left and joined my current employer, he noticed that I was not talking about my job too much and I said, it's because it's a nice place and it's ok.

I’ve had the pleasure of working as a receptionist at OCU Group Ltd for nearly six weeks now, and I can honestly say it’s been a fantastic experience so far. From my very first day, I was warmly welcomed by the team and made to feel like a valued part of the company.

The work environment is professional yet supportive, and there’s a genuine sense of teamwork throughout the organization. Everyone is approachable, respectful, and willing to help whenever needed, which made settling into my role much easier than I could have hoped for.

OCU Group’s commitment to excellence is clear not only in the services they provide but also in how they treat their staff. I’ve been given all the resources and support needed to perform my role confidently and have already been encouraged to grow and develop my skills.

Overall, it’s been a really positive start to my journey with OCU Group, and I’m genuinely excited to continue contributing to such a forward-thinking and friendly company.

I worked for o’connors and helped them out with an idea they had despite how terrible it was and despite warnings to them, they refused to listen. Nepotism is rampant from friends of the owners being the managers to son of the owner waltzing around doing nothing all day and you getting grief for speaking to colleagues once per day. Gangs will fail drink and drug tests and still be sent out to work breaking numerous laws but its ignored by the management time and time again!

Numerous people leaving due to the framework manager and their absolute lack of intelligence, foresight or people skills. People sacked for speaking up or told they’re redundant only for “friends” to take the roles they were sacked from. Zero sick pay or sick leave, constant fear of the sack to cover managers mistakes. Awful racism, homophobia and xenophobia issue and poor office enviroment caused by framework manager.

If you're lazy and don't like doing what you are paid to do then this is not a place for you. BUT, if you enjoy contributing to success, having your ideas and input listened to, praised for doing a great job and finishing the day and week with a sense of satisfaction, then you will definitely fit in. 
The people here are helpful and welcoming and you don't have to look far to get some guidance. It's not a bureaucratic place so decisions are made quickly which means there is nowhere to hide if you like putting your feet up.  This is an evolving company. It's changed just in the time that I have worked here and it's very clear that they are improving in every way they can. The CEO knows where he wants to company to go and how he wants it to evolve and everyone I talk to seems very focussed on getting us there. I'm really pleased I joined OCU!
