heard staff calling people that struggle a bit rather than helping them, manager didn't listen when a contract came over in such a mess, they put inexperienced staff on rather than staff that knew the job well, in my experience i would of put new staff learning the job on a well established contract to help them learn the ropes.  Was expected to answer emails as well as answer the phone and when we couldn't do the emails because how busy the phones were, we were sent to the office to hear management tell us we had to make time, when we both had said about our concerns, management didn't listen and told us we would get a warning if we didn't do the emails as well.  The emails were not answered because if we didn't answer the phone then staff across the office would shout over they had one of our calls and can they transfer it over, so to me we were in a no win situations, instead of having a member of staff to do emails only which would of been the solution to a situation we kept telling management about but nobody would listen to us, 2 members of staff to a contract that was new and in a terrible state.

If you're admin or purchasing based avoid this company like the plague. They pay you a minimum of £4K a year less than the British Gas Client Coordinators (who usually do half the work). Your salary is barely enough to live on, the tasks are mediocre and although the managers are very approachable and friendly, they have no backbone and won't recommend you for promotion unless you're one of the "Office Pets". (If you don't take my advice and actually decide to work here within 2 weeks you'll know what I mean). 

I was promoted to Deputy Team Leader with no wage increase, and was expected to do the managers role 2 days a week as they were part time. The daily tasks are repetitive, the systems poor and outdated, plus little or no tranining is provided to new members of staff. This is a very amateur company which offer little or no prospects of progression.

The place was once very relaxed and to an extent fun. The management deal depended on a lot of good will of the staff in order for the place to even function. However before I left the place became strict, far too formal and totalitarian.

PH Jones is a great place to work, run by people that will go out of their way to help you settle in and only expect the same in return.
Typically, a day will start with the daily routines (checking overnight jobs, backups, etc.) but then will focus on project work.
Once you get settled in to a role here, you'll find that (like anywhere) people just want to get on with each other and with their jobs, but once the working day is over, there is a social aspect to the company which allows everyone to become much closer than some larger organisations that I've worked for.

Front line Colleagues are great. Really great people across S&R, installs and Social Housing

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to deal with incompetent line managers. Totally out their depth and with the people skills of a lamp post. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful and lonely. Given too much work and no resources, help or materials to do it with. Expected to do the job of 3 people for less pay that 1.

To be fair I was only a sub contractor for PHJONES but I was very happy there, the office and mangers left me alone just sent a job sheet threw the night before did the jobs sent a quick email listing what I'd done and that was it. The pay was good got a full days rate but usually finished around 2/3 not taking any breaks, organisation was very poor though people assessing the jobs didn't know anything so large amount of the time you wouldn't have the correct materials but not the end if the world as you just sent the job back.

stay away promise to pay extras but never do  . your manager never answers his phone if you have isuses . he does call back about 3 days later sometimes . surveyors are salesmen not installers and will sell anything to get there commission . never have the correct materials to do the job due to rubbish surveys . my main gripe about them is your manager not answering his phone or returning calls on same day . bunch of jokers. you have to argue about your money every week as its allways wrong

Currently working on Social Housing Associations contact. So with past experiences it best not to get too comfortable as you're likely to be Tuped every 5 to 10 years and TUPE is not all it's made out to be.

Not stressful most of the time apart from unruly customers

I was on permanent work from home

Taking inbound calls calls all day

If your happy working in a call centre enviroment and can multitask doing admin as well as calls during busy periods then this job will suit you. Pay isnt the best for this type of work just above minimum wage. When taken on permanent you get sick days paid for. I worked remotely and sometimes in the office. 

Good company to work for, day to day activities include managing engineers, clients facing, meetings. Hardest part of the job is recruiting good engineers in London, most enjoyable part is working with the clients and meting customers.
