The restaurant is great and the food amazing. Always busy and has a really fun atmosphere. 
Just a shame about the management. 

The manager would talk negatively about staff behind there backs to other members of staff, as well as personal stuff that had been told to them in private. The manager would also moan about staff being sick. Seemed to think they were always lying. Someone was made to come back to work early even though they were signed off. 

junior management team are lazy and speak to staff like trash. There were times where a junior manager made staff cry and nothing was done about it. They would sit on there phones while everyone else ran around. 

Sometimes a higher up manager from the office would come when we were short staffed and after those shifts, some of the girls were upset because the manager would tell them how bad at there jobs they were without giving training to do it the right way. 

It was amazing to begin with, until it wasn't, and then it was a really toxic work environment. There were good managers at the beginning who seemed to care but they left and it got worse. 

Some of the rest of the team were really fun to work with. There are good staff there but thats not always enough. 

Chefs were okay. Pretty professional and a couple a bit stand-offish but probably one of the nicest kitchen teams I've worked with. 

Could be so good but they put the restaurant in the hands of the wrong people, in my opinion. I would definitely avoid. 

Senior chefs set a very good example and junior staff follow it. The owners are hands on and get equipment fixed as soon as there is a problem with it. The best workplace in the industry no doubt

good place to work. Excellent staff
typical day was polishing glasses and cutlery, making drinks, serving customers.
Also made some of the dishes such as cold meats and breads.
Hardest part is that sometimes it gets really busy as there isn't a bookings system and so there isn't a maximum number of people that can come.

Still it's one of the great places to work,
All the staff is friendly and helpful.
Great team and very happy to work in a place that 
Everyone puts they're part to achieve a great service under a nice vibe.


Enjoyed working at Porta Chester
Food is great and team are lovely including chefs
Quite relaxed environment but everyone works hard
Busy place and gets a bit hectic but fun
