I enjoy my job as a Carer as i find it rewarding that the people i visit on a daily basis are so appreciative of what you do for them, i enjoy working on my own or as part of a team if a service user needs 2 carers for example you would need to carers if the service user needed hoisting.
on a typical day i assist with daily tasks such as helping a service user out of bed, assisting them to wash, dry, dress, do their teeth, admin or prompt meds if necessary, assist with breakfast, lunch, tea, supper, assist into pyjamas, assist back in to bed and all the small things in between that would usually go unnoticed like making a cup of tea or helping put something on a shelf, going out to do their shopping or helping clean around the house.
the hardest part of my job is the fact its a 0 hr contract so some times i may have 60+ hours a week and other times i may only have 8.

I'd avoid this company, the exploitive zero hour contracts are one thing, but the staff are very unappreciated for the hard work they do and are driven to the point of exhaustion with no other support than to be told (rather abruptly) that "you've got to do it or we won't use you again". No support whatsoever and no consideration for the staff wellbeing or family life. The service users don't fare much better as the calls are often block booked (back to back with no travelling time in between) just to fit them in which means that the staff have to get in, do what they have to, and run back out again with no time to ensure the service user is comfortable. The service users are no more than cash cows to this company. 

the management was ok but there would be days were my calls would change last minute i would have calls added to me when they knew that where they had added a call was were my break was supposed to be. they would not replace my break elsewhere throughout my day. I never had time to see my friends or family as they exspected me to work 12 on 2 off doing the same shift pattern of 3-11 everyday.

I like to work to the book and effectively however Qcare do not adopt that method. always changing contracts, hours, salary, lunch breaks. unorganised and not centred at the hearts of service users

Q-Care is a lovely company,  However I felt very pressurised to work when unavailable and I was often working in locations to far from home. Due to this I felt I spent more money on fuel then I was actually paid.

For a half decent wage you have got to work all hours you can get off them,  management was terrible, only plus side I met some great people along the way

company not very supportive, extremely un organised. 
Not enough staff to provide best care for service users.
