Radley is a fast paced work environment that is customer service driven and focuses on the customer experience as well as sales. From my experience and at the store I worked at, I can honestly say I wouldn't be where I am now without them. Although management isn't perfect, like most work places, I was supported both as an employee and a person and was always pushed to be the best I could be. 
Radley was my first job as I started in my first year at sixth form and I stayed right up until I left for Uni after a gap year. The contracts they offer are reasonable and overtime is usually available with pay also being decent. There is also plenty of opportunity to work your way up the team as I went from an 8 hr sales assistant to a 16 hr key holder - they support your retail journey and development.
When I was there, the manager and assistant manager were beyond great and made my time at the company so special. The team were like a second family and coming to work didn't feel like a chore.
The work itself is easy once trained on the different bag names aswell as features and benefits of each (all of this you are trained on over time). From this building rapport with customers becomes easy and less intimidating making the job enjoyable and rewarding. 
The skills you get from the job are transferable and valuable in life and work. Radley has helped me become more confident, hardworking and experienced. 
The hardest part of the job for me was iPad sales due to the technology being outdated and wifi issues however this cannot be helped. 
Overall a great company to work for if you love retail and have a passion for customer service.


A typical day at work would consist of data entry, statistics evaluation, reformatting. Confidently delivering monthly presentations to the store. Building a good rapport with the customers and meeting daily targets. Liaising with senior managers and training new staff.
Working with the team on product enhancements and marketing new lines, including helping with store presentation and staff motivation.

Having worked as a customer sales associate I learned to provide fast and friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. I learned how to maintain stock on the shop floor as well as maintain a clean and safe environment. I also learned how to maintain a professional attitude at all times and remain calm in demanding and complex situations. 

Management within the store is vital to the smooth running of the store and its success. This is interconnected with a dedicated team. Having co-workers alongside management adds to the stability and its consistently outstanding customer service.


The most challenging part/time of the job is during the sale period where I am faced with having to deal with multiple customer queries at a time. This trains my ability to multi-task as well as meet primary objectives in a demanding and spontaneous environment. 

The most enjoyable part/ time of the job is the rewarding feeling I get when I see a satisfied customer at the hands of my service. I like to see my company succeed and how my contributions has helped them towards their success.

Planning Daily workload for Goods Outwards, E-Commerce and Operations Department and meeting with other department heads to ensure that stock available to pick. Providing reports on previous days productivity to Manager and agree targets for following day. Through various roles learnt all aspects of the warehouse from Goods Inwards, Stock Control, Operations, Goods Out and the benefits of following a process to maximise efficiency. Sometimes felt I was the only manager bringing forward new ideas to improve productivity, During 3 years as Supervisor productivity up 66% and first year on year comparison as Goods Out Manager productivity up 20% in first three months. Hardest part of the role was learning how to communicate with directors as little training was given and was new to Management. Although frustrating at time was rewarding from feedback from staff about improvements that made job their job easier and helped with productivity

Would not recommend working here. I worked an 8 hour contract and was being given 30 hours a week, and would then be disciplined when I could not work this many hours despite only being contracted to 8 hours. It was one rule for one employee and one for another. Hard work would go unrecognised and instead mistakes would be focused on. There was always drama between employees and management were very lazy and pull all the stress on the sales assistants.

I really enjoyed working here as it was highly customer focused. Working closely with the customers and ensuring they found the best products and product care was paramount. The management staff were beyond helpful and understanding and the the team I worked with were kind and hard working. 

The hardest part of the job was when it quietened down after the Christmas rush and there was little to be done.

Great colleagues and good work environment. However, when the manager is there it is the complete opposite. Manager would take many cigarette breaks during our shifts but roll her eyes if you needed a toilet break or made a mistake. She would scold staff members and undermine them in front of customers.

Lovely work place but often  made to feel not included by other team members, customers were friendly and sweet. Benefits with the job like discounts were good. Just not enough training provided for me and as said before some workplace exclusion 

I View Radley & Co as a company that is still Growing and will continue to grow for some years.
It's like a family Business as it looks after it's staff to a very good level.

Serving and helping customers.

Receiving and checking deliveries. 

Making sure that the store was clean and the product well presented.

That's not a bad place to work at all. But a member of the staff is over the top used to be very rude. Not help with training. Absolutely no training with product has been given.
