A great place to work if you want a fast pace, challenging environment and job that is different every day.

The staff are some of the best I've ever worked with. In each department everyone is very supportive and you will never be alone.

The management I worked under were supportive, kind and engage regularly with staff.

The systems are quiet easy to use and spring have been evolving with more sectors in the company which benefit the ground working team as I  personally found it takes the pressure off those who work with some challenging cases.

The only thing I found the company needed to work on was staff pay and making it equal and fair for those who were working the same job - taking feed back from the staff, this is something the company were currently addressing when I left.

However starting off a housing career, I would advise applying with Spring as you can learn a great deal from the company, the staff and its customers.

Poor senior management they have their favorites and will make it known!  They will defend who they like and dont actually care for your wellbeing
This job will affect your mental and emotional health stay away if you value yourself! 

No initial training thrown into the deep end to deal with stressful situations for example, staff having a knife waved in your face etc 

Having to accept high risk tenants to “quickly” fill voids. Major repair works left undone and hazardous! 

Act as a charity to have a good image but expect staff to work themselves into the ground! 
Overworked and unappreciated avoid like the plague 





Overall the organisation is good to work for if you have little to no experience. It can be quite intense due to the nature of work but it can help build good experience on your CV and open the door for other job opportunities with different organisations. The organisation is very flexible, friendly and supportive. The main issue is Pay and lack of progression 


Great team working environment with lots of  good training provided and the attitude of the door is always open if you have an issue or need to talk if something is concerning you. Also the ability to move in different roles and different sites. Professional setup and structure with Senior Team who always keep you up to date with the company's vision. Sometimes there is pressure in the workload, but that is present in most roles. 

Adult safeguarding non existent as upon starting employment, no support plans or risk assessments on file. 
IT systems out of date and complicated.
Management in Birmingham must do better, and gain the courage to address all the current issues and shortfalls.
Low staff retention is a good indicator that the service is in need of a major overhaul from the ground up.


Spring Housing is considerate of the needs of staff and their customers, making decisions with them in mind and communicating what is happening behind the scenes to the staff team on a quarterly basis. You are trusted to do your job and not micromanaged at every turn, but a manager is always available to get advice, if needed.

As Team Leader in Refugee Services, I coordinate support and lead a dedicated team. I’ve grown in leadership and problem-solving. Management is supportive, and the culture is inclusive. The hardest part is handling complex cases with limited resources, but the most rewarding is seeing refugees rebuild their lives and succeed.

Unless your face fits you won't get anywhere. Everything is never enough, the pay is awful for what they expect. Management are inexperienced and horrible. Director and senior management never take on board complaints or concerns they are just defensive. I could say a lot more. Definitely would not recommend working here.

Leaving was the best decision I ever made. Staff turnover is ridiculously high. 

Coventry Services. Terrible. 
New management made life miserable for employees. Staff turnover is ridiculously high. You are not looked after or cared about. It's all about the money for Spring. Half of the residents they get paid to look after don't even live there.
Working bank holidays and expected to work Christmas and New Year only getting paid extra for Christmas day. 

Really nice place to work, with supportive staff and a positive work environment. I've been with Spring for 5 years now and have watched the company grow from a small to a mid-sized organisation. Even though it's expanded, there is still a very personal relationship with managers and senior management are very involved and approachable.
