In TLS contact a typical day of work included communicating with clients in the visa centre. The good thing about working in TLS was that i learnt a lot about the industry and the different eligibility criteria when applying for a VISA. I did enjoy working with fellow colleagues and built good working relationships with them. 

However, one really bad issue about working in TLS is how management treats their staff, treating staff like children, telling them that they need to see management before they go to toilet, meetings being organised for using the toilet for too long, not appreciating the hard work staff puts in on a regular basis but only recognise the mistakes that are made. The overall culture in the company is also very bad it seems that the company does not care about what their employees want in the organisation.

I enjoyed it because of my colleagues. I don't recommend this particular company to anyone who values commitment or salary.
The culture sounds great until your operations management team have to answer to stakeholders and then it's a decision to save themselves. If they put in actual effort to build teams and their employees like they advertise it'd be a good choice.
My training was abysmal, with 3 months of doing nothing while we set up the office from scratch.
Even then once we were doing business that 3 months of doing nothing clearly showed with how little support we had from operations and even IT.
From the outside, it looks so promising but on the inside it's another poor example of how it looks when you go with the lowest bidder to handle something as simple as processing visa applications. 

They expect employees to work extra hard and there are no pay incentive, we got paid 16K a year and sometimes had to stay and work extra hard until midnight. Management would make you do awful jobs for them, then turn around and issue warnings for completing those jobs, claiming you weren't supposed to do them.

If you get sick, you get a warning, if you work hard you get a warning. They treat people like rubbish. You cannot even have a desk of your own as everyday you must move and sit somewhere different, then you get warnings for not having a suitable working space and not been able to process applications fast enough, It's ridiculous! They over work employees only offer 3- 6 months contracts and only renew them month by month. They are horrible, belittle people and make them cry, not professional at all

I got a placement at TLS in Leeds via an agency on a 3 month contract. 
The role involved processing visa/ immigration applications and taking biometrics from customers. 
Two shift patterns but both very family friendly.  (8-4 10-6 weekdays)
My supervisors were absolutely brilliant and supportive. They guided me through the processes and were always there for support and advice. 
My colleagues, some absolutely wonderful people I got to work with. I was blessed. 
My contract extended to 7 months overall but due to a fall in customer numbers, it concluded at that point. 
A wonderful experience and If I was given the opportunity to go back, I would do so in a heartbeat.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My experience was Disappointing  there was no teamwork,a lot of favouritism,trained to work on different role of the job,but was not really given the opportunity to use them.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not being to use the toilets without managers searching for you after a few minutes

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was not healthy as there were too many supervisors and your well being was ignored and some staff members were not treated with respect,favouritism was encouraged.

Absolutely awful place to work. The workload is unmanageable with little to no support from management.
HR are absolutely vile and you’re made to feel bad if you’re off sick - you also will only receive SSP as company sick pay is “discretionary”.
Everyone got paid wrong often and HR did not help, they would let people wait another month to get it paid correctly regardless of how this affects your financial situation. There is no such thing as health and safety including no accident book and cables lying everywhere.
The colleagues were very nice which was the only enjoyable part about it.


If you just arrive in London or if you used to work as a waiter or sales assistant and you want to work in an office job, then this place is a very good opportunity.

But on another side, the salary is very low, the management is asking you a lot, but they never give you consideration for all the good work and efforts that you do.

No work life balance as the first shift starts at 7 and the last one at 11 ending at 7 pm. You’re like in a jail. You need to ask supervisors to go to the restroom.
