I really enjoyed working with Tradewind. The staff were exceptional. Very polite, efficient and considerate. My consultant was exceptional, and although there were times where I could have done with extra days, I was well aware that there were other much more qualified and experienced candidates than myself.

The support from the company was really good. I really enjoyed the varied nature of the work. Going to really nice schools in primary one day, and then the inner city rough schools for secondary the next.

I learned a lot about myself, my branch of skills and what kind of teaching i am personally suited to.

A typical day was to wake up about 6, head off to the school for the day, get a briefing from the school about my roles for the day. Fulfill the roles. Integrate with the students, and assist the teacher where i could.After the day had finished, i would get a call from Tradewind (normally my consultant) and review how i felt the day had gone, and review what the school thought of me. Then try and get some more shifts for the week. I would be finished on average between 4 and 4.30 pm

What is the best part of working at the company?
They provide training courses for employees every month and when needed.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When working minimal hours. 
 Constant change and uncertainty of work locations. 
Handling difficulty children at work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Staff share their mental experiences on social media.
Staff treat mental with respect and dignity and not judging anyone.
Staff wellbeing is prioritize and monitored.
Staff are very supportive.
Honesty and kindness is being encouraged.
Staff are open to discussion to newer employees as as the old members.



What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Staff attendance morning briefings with their team.
A teacher may cover a class when the class teacher is in a meeting.
A teacher meets with other class teacher to make sure the children have what they need or when they need to talk to someone.


Let me explain why I gave such a negative review:

**The Pay:** Tradewinds has a payscale based on experience for their CRT role. However, all CRTs are paid the same, regardless of experience. This seems like an excuse for Tradewinds to take an extra cut. In contrast, other agencies offer a flat rate that matches or exceeds Tradewinds' maximum experience rate. If you're seeking competitive salary and benefits, I recommend looking elsewhere.

**The Opportunists:** They promised overseas teaching opportunities in the UK, guaranteeing non-CRT jobs. They assured me that there was high demand and that they would secure positions in my specialities with ease. However, upon arrival, the promised jobs vanished, leaving only more CRT work, with lower pay, and longer hours. Their exorbitant 50%+ cut in the UK speaks volumes about the company's greed.

Agencies are everywhere. Why choose one that prioritises its own interests so disproportionately?



I worked at two other agencies prior to starting at Tradewind, and I only wished I joined them sooner. 

They pay the best salaries in educations recruitment, by a long way. They have great benefits including 7 weeks holiday, and incredible incentives. They put big focus on their candidates and pay them well and look after them, always trying to put them first. The support from compliance and recoursers is second to none.  

The management team are great and genuinely care about everyone. You can speak to anyone and they will be on your level. As with any company there are a few people who can be negative and don't know how good they have it, but there's only a few and they're easily ignored.

Culture is terrific in London, lots of banter and working alongside people who are really good at what they do. Couldn't be happier working for Tradewind and completely committed to them.

AVOID! Can't speak for the wider Tradewind Recruitment offices, so this review is no reflection on those teams other than the Hull Office. In my 15 years of teaching I can honestly say this is the poorest agency in the area. The communication I have received throughout my time with the Hull office has been very poor. Especially when you have to call them yourself to find out what's going on. When registering it's all pleasant and positive but on reflection it's all fake. I had no other option to register with another supply agency which in hindsight has been the best decision I have made this year. I am starting a full time role from September which my new consultant arranged for me. I wasn't going to write this review,  but I felt other professionals or aspiring professionals  needed to know about the experience received from this office. Please avoid or at least do your research before using this agency. Speak with fellow colleagues first.

I've told tradewind I'm having travel issues due to heavy construction work near the public transport hub in my local town. Despite the fact I have been unable to get to long distance locations on time as such, tradewind today called me u reliable. I have worked with them for over a year, and even though I am the "unreliable" one, they have also failed to provide me with consistent work for more than at max, 2 days a week for over a month now. I am barely surviving. I have been eating less, not using my basic amenities to save money. I'm not living. My health has taken a toll due to this company. They tell you they want to help, but backstab you the second something goes wrong. It doesn't matter if you tell them you can travel, you can do secondry, primary, SEN work. None of it matters. If you want work, DO NOT USE TRADEWIND

Probably the worst recruitment company I have worked for, after being employed by Tradewind for over a year you would think their staff would be on the forefront of managements mind. 

Not with Tradewind! 

After feeling/being forced by management to work late, or being told directors are watching what time you leave the iceing has been placed on the cake by now being forced to go back to the office during the global COVID pandemic  Tradewind have tried to divide and conquer by management talking to each recruiter individually and probing into why we are not in the office yet and when we will be back in the office. Taking no consideration into how we actually feel.

I have worked for Tradewind for over 7 years in a number of different roles across the company as a consultant. 
The office culture is electric; full of life, laughs and a lot of incentives to motivate us to reach our goals.
We work hard and are rewarded for the work we do. We get little perks along the way and enjoy company trips together which is such a huge high light in everyone’s year. 
I feel like this company has always backed me but even more so during these recent uncertain, unpredicted (all the ‘uns’) times. In an industry where mass redundancies are now coming through and with agencies who furloughed their staff without second thought, Tradewind has backed me, us! And I couldn’t be more grateful!

Staff are always helpful and  organisation of work load is made easier to work with children at the school .

Wider jobs of opportunities for staff. They helped you to pursue other goals in training.

They have varieties job roles and it helped me to
gain experience across different industries roles which makes me more employable and me to discover my ideal career path.

I was introduced to a career support by the Agency and I received professional guidance on CV writing interviews and discussion on the salary.






Amazing first day meeting the new children and staff the class room would be set up on a daily basis, praises were all around me for my trial day so I decided to take the long term role   Fellow co-workers were all amazing, very friendly and helpful.  I learnt to take many instructions from all the staff and managed to learn the routine quickly,  I learnt how to do a learning story on the eylog which i had not done before.  Having fit in well within my new setting i knew that this was going to be an amzing experience .Learning over 75 children's name was a great challenge for me, would definately go back again if approached.
