ULHT has a very family orientated vibe, applying for roles and the interview process was really easy to navigate. I only intended to stay for 6 months and 9 years later have reached my goal and still love working for ULHT with no desire to change or move. I am very lucky to work flexibly with hours and remote/on site working which works really well for me. I have progressed from a Band 3 to a Band 7 with full support and encouragement.  My current role gives me great flexibility and a variety of tasks and responsibilities - a role that really compliments my skill set.  ULHT take ED&I very seriously too and the Staff Networks play a key role in developments.  I have a private sector background and never thought I would enjoy the public sector so much.  A chance to give something back and keep our patients at the centre of everything we do.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
Holiday entitlement. Annual leave. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Rude staff. Bullying staff. Lack of organisation. Short staffed. Lack of bank staff. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful, rudeness and bullying.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Absolutely vile. Lack of staff and equipment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Cordial working enviroment and genuine people willing to give a helping hand to needy. Supportive helping a newcomer settle down. Up to date with keeping to nhs standards.

Keeping pace with the heavy influx of patients coming in at winter

ULHT provides a supportive work environment with a strong focus on the patient at all times. The last few years have seen significant improvements in culture across the Trust.
The management is supportive and there are many opportunities for development and progression within the Trust and the wider NHS.

I wouldn’t work for this department ever again . Workload increased 100% in ten years. Poor staff retention. Spent most of my day waiting for patients as the staff on the wards are under so much pressure they don’t have time to help. Patients outside smoking or at the shop

Can't say a bad word on the team I worked with. Obviously everyone is aware of all the issues regarding the NHS but I can honestly say that everyone I worked with there tried their best to do what they can, with what they've got 

Supportive when you arrive but it soon goes downhill when on rotation. Many teams love to gossip, and like to see you fall with a select few of people very genuine. 

Overpaid and overworked 

Good management and lovely colleagues. They are very helpful in supporting flexible working requests to fit around your personal circumstances. Can be stressful at times.
