I worked at VolkerWessels Uk for 12 years, and overall it was a fantastic company to work for. The work life balance was excellent only 35 hours a week, with early finishes at 4pm, which made a huge difference. After raising the issue, I was allowed to work from home two days a week, which was a great benefit.

The perks and benefits were strong, including private healthcare (Bupa), a car allowance, and regular pay increases (annual cost of living adjustments plus performance based raises). The pay was competitive and fair, and I always felt well compensated.

The culture was generally very positive, with the majority of staff being supportive and friendly. My direct manager was genuinely lovely, and most of the directors were approachable, though a few were a bit old fashioned in their ways, but even that has been changing over time.

The only reason I left was due to a personal conflict with one individual, which unfortunately became too much after 12 years. Otherwise, I would have happily stayed, and this is the only company I’d ever truly consider going back to.

Worked for this company for 3 years and I couldn't be happier I have left. Shockingly poor pay reviews, 1-2% salary increase every year, almost no progression in the company. You'll be stuck doing same job year after year. Working hard at this company does not pay off, it's a dead end job from the beginning. Really regret wasting 3 years of my life working here. Terrible company. Was not paid the same as other members in my team for doing the same job. Management always make excuses as to why you aren't progressing within the company / being paid fairly.

I've just retire after 25 year they  are a company that look and care  for their work force

It is most of the time stress free

Fantastic culture and company but the travelling to London on a Friday aft was never good!!! If you North based, expect to travel South quite a bit. Not a lot of support or guidance when I first started. But that got better as I settled in more and knew who to ask.

No support from management. No desire to take on new skills. Stuck in an excel past and it didn't help that the pandemic hit. The team I was assigned basically downed tools wrt Business Intelligence

Unfair termination of contract. Turned from sweet to sour in a matter of a week. Poor communication. Poor management in my department. Not sure about the rest of the business. There is a high turnover of staff suggesting poor retention.

If i had not have been relocating i would still be there..
Great place to work, felt truly valued and great benefits. Really good work/life balance. Hard decision leaving

They can not manage staff properly and they have a big turnover of staff. This tells you that they can not keep their staff. Look else where for work.
