With an extensive history of managerial experience I have much experience in overseeing all operations run smoothly as per client specification and company procedures. This has strengthened my ability to work to strict deadlines when liaising with clients and suppliers.    

Acting as an Assistant Manager for a period in excess of over five years entailed being responsible for the recruitment, interviewing and final appointment of employees as well as conducting new staff inductions and development programmes. In addition, I was also responsible for providing Health and Safety training to all new employees which dealt with all aspects of the workplace ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards at all times in line with the company policy. I have much experience in managing and maintaining accurate personal records for all staff members including, data for payroll, annual leave, sickness and absence. Through this range of experience I have acquired the ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills by conducting training and personal development reviews alongside team briefings. This aspect of my role also extends to monitoring team performance levels and providing appropriate support and training where necessary. 

I consider myself to have the requisite passion and confidence to hold the position of responsibility which this role entails, including being financially focused and commercially aware. My professional and polite attributes enable me to demonstrate excellent customer facing and communication skills in a professional environment including being able to handle telephone enquiries competently. This has allowed me to bring forward creative ideas that will assist in boosting business and increasing profit. In any given scenario I endeavour to ensure the customer’s needs are met and client expectations are exceeded. My experiences also required ensuring all staff members were trained to a sufficiently high standard in order to deliver excellent customer service. Spent 2 years working my backside off for a company that regularly bullied staff and intimidated managers. 

I eventually resigned after being insulted in an office full of staff (i was one of the most senior) because i wouldn't cancel my holiday and cover shifts in ANOTHER COUNTRY... Regularly working 70 hours a week away from home, not being recognised or even acknowledged for doing more than should ever be expected. 

I was shafted from one site to the next with no regard of my well-being or work-life balance. I communicated concerns around stress and burnout and was told to go and work in admin if i wanted an 'easier role'. 

The role was offered on a progressive basis (it was even in my contract) where i would be promoted based on certain performance targets which were predesignated before i started and were static. At my first review after 6 months i was told 'processes had changed after i had arrived' which was basically 'the goalposts have been moved to the moon'. My 2nd and 3rd review went very much the same way. I found myself 18 months in and thousands £ down on my salary. 

The most enjoyable part about the job was genuinely the people, there were a lot of bitter staff and i didn't blame them, the whole culture is toxic and based on selfish gains. Managers wouldn't think twice about openly sabotaging a staff members holiday or annual leave simply because 'they didn't cover last week so why should i?'. I met a handful of people in my time there that were grafters and still came to work smiling despite the bullying, low pay and long hours. I had a senior site manager in tears to me because he was running a site at the end of its contract so all of his staff and resources had been dripped away. He had slept in the office 2 nights consecutively and left his newborn baby at home with his wife. When i voiced my concerns to his senior i was told 'mind your own business, hes my staff'. 

Finally when i left i was owed a considerable amount of annual leave as id left at the end of the holiday year and hadn't had any time to take it (see above). I was assured that i would get what was owed. 3 months later and i was still chasing it. I was told by HR that a mistake had been made and i was owed nothing as i had used all my holiday allowance but they couldnt tell me when i had been off on holiday (not true, also against the law). I had the foresight to keep a copy of my payslips (annual leave is recorded here) which i forwarded to the HR department to show them there was an error. It was obvious that  records had been altered. They subsequently opened an investigation and my senior manager was 'asked to resign'... pathetic.

I was involved mostly in the management side. Became an Assistant Manager in 2 years, I was a Senior Supervisor before. I used to work as a Team member and Supervisor in London Bridge where gave me most of my basic skills in Logistics and eventually moved to Paddington Station where it was a bigger platform and bigger revenue. In Paddington I was in charge of the operations as well as my manager, and we make a great team and create a great companionship and leadership together. He was so comfortable to take his holidays without hesitation, because everything was always running smooth and we had great audits from external Stocktaking companies to come and check our stock. I was responsible for Stocktaking, Closing the week, Payroll, Cleaning Schedules, Ordering, Deliveries to the shops, Invoice Processing, for new products requested for new promotions and offers from our company. Data queries, wastage and losses. Any discrepancy was checked with my Operational Managers and explained where we lost the Stock. Everything was very detailed and professional. The Diary had to be check, temperature checks, times of deliveries, in and out. Registration vehicles coming to us to chase any issues over the phone through customer services. Items was in place, Freezers and Fridges were serviced and clean inside, due diligence was a main factor. We had to think ahead. Stocktaking was every Wednesday and most of times I had to stay over my hours to closed the week and find the loses and record any kind of strange activity. I had a great relationship with everyone gave training to many workers, some of them create an hostile environment which was taking not so serious from my manager and that create a situation between me and him, because he just wanted to get on with work and didn't want to go the disciplinary procedures and change the people in our environment that were causing many arguments. In 4 years his salary was doubled and mine was exactly the same, that made think if I should continue in that place that I was treating as my own. I felt he was getting lazy and not showing up as he used to, not participating as much and leaving most work for me. I learn my kindness and my devotion was so much that he took my work to in a way pushing me even further and not even thinking about my health and family issues. I lost my father while I was there and he was not comprehensive. After a while I felt I wasn't treated as I should and decided to resign.

A typical day with Compass Group Limited in Padiham consists of working with a friendly group of proactive co-workers, tasked with providing a wholesome catering experience to the customers of our on-site canteen.

Each day consists of creating no less than three separate courses of meals; from Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, utilising the culinary skills and talents of each of our team to satisfy our customers.

Whether its creating fancy exotic cuisines or traditional main-stay favourites, we strive to manage a healthy, balanced and eclectic variety for our customers to enjoy on a regular basis. 

We are also open to many suggestions and improvements that our customers, managers or visitors may provide, which has repeatedly continued to shape and develop our work since we first began. Each member of staff is valued for their contributions, whether it may be from everyday work management or simply improving our workspace to maximize our potential output.

Overall, the Head Management of our unit has received mixed reactions. In addition to having few visits from our regional managers, of which we have had a number of since we first established, we also have little support in any on-going development or career advancements. Having said this, we do receive independent assessment and evaluation inspections on our unit for Health, Sanitation and Unit Presentation, of which we have previously won awards.

Our working practices help to strengthen our team, so much so that each member can be reliant on one another in times of necessity.

Work hours can be irregular, especially with sudden changes in work rotas on occasional, but cover can usually be provided by one another in relatively quick time in the event of most unforeseen circumstances. This includes both Day and Night Shifts as examples.

I worked for Compass Group at a popular football stadium as a catering assistant for well over a year, and it was terrible.

There was little to no hygiene or health and safety whatsoever.
- I was regularly in view of the managers picking up customers hot food with their bare hands and then serving it to them.
- I was never given proper equipment for handling piping hot food and beverages; often leading to burns, scars and other injuries.
- In one instance I cut myself badly and required a plaster, it took over 25 minutes of walking around and asking various stations as none of them had a proper first aid kit

I found myself (and other co-workers) regularly and wrongfully bullied by the customers, however the management never acted upon this or defended their staff, bare in mind I was still a minor when I began working here. 

The security was extremely poor and I won't go into detail on how you could do it, but practically any member of the public could walk inside the football ground without being checked.

When working in an outdoors area of the football ground, I was always extremely grateful if it was warm. We were never given appropriate clothing and due to the uniform restrictions, we were unable to wear anything other than a dark, thin buttoned shirt.

There was very little training upon getting the job, it leaves you quite helpless on your first few shifts and often appearing quite foolish in front of the customers.

Unfortunately, a very poor job ran by poor management. I did learn some useful skills in catering and customer service, including how to take a lot of insults without taking it personally.

As the job encompassed an array of duties, there was plenty of variety in between setting up for events, working them and clearing down/preparing for the next events. The management worked a huge amount of hours each work, so they were knowledgeable and were always keen to give people a chance to take on new responsibilities if they had gained their trust. Due to this I was able to progress from being a casual staff member to a bar supervisor in just under 9 months, so I was grateful to them for giving me new opportunities. The nature of my co-workers always varies as I worked mainly with students, recent college graduates and people that had been doing the job since they were a young age, which often lead to a conflict of interest on how things should be done. I feel that a lot of my co-workers, although nice people, showed a distinct lack of ambition in taking themselves forward and wanting to develop more personal skills by placing themselves in new situations. The hardest part of the job was not knowing when we were going to finish, as I had to abandon so many social activities due to still being at work later than I was first told. This also earned me more money as we were hourly paid, but it meant that I missed out on a life outside of work, which is a sacrifice that I am willing to take on occasion but not as often as I had to in this role. My colleagues also made the social element of the job the most enjoyable, as we would spend long periods of time together so we kept ourselves focused in order for one another to be motivated to complete the days objectives.

Working for ESS RAF Waddington was a perfect job until the scheduled military break times and lunch times when the que is 20 people deep for hours and you work on your own running the Cafe on your own from till, to coffee batista to food prep to cooking , cleaning and washing up. Table clearing and replenishing of stock. No support available making the position unsustainable. It makes the Customer Service Assistant feel
Stressed , burnt-out and under pressure constantly. Not a great way to feel. 
I felt under appreciated, overwhelmed and exhausted and there wasn't any support even to go to the toilet which is a basic human right! 
It could have been such a great role. The kitchen was all new; with jacket potato oven , merry chef toaster oven and mini oven and griddle and deep fat fryer to do a wonderful menu. 
But how can you provide excellent Customer Service if you work alone and cannot provide the whole menu? How can that even be a professional service when customers complain because they wanted curry and chips and I can't provide it , cooking and making coffees at the same time. 
I had burnt myself a few times where I was rushing food out , and had to carry on with a burnt arm. Blaming myself but actually when you are rushing and working under pressure you make mistakes that can be unsafe at work. 
Totally not the job that I expected. I thought it would be great,  working part if a team but how can that be when you work alone ?

Where do I start? Been working there for 4 years and no recognition for service, wages only go up when the government forces companies to pay more.

There's zero hours everywhere they like to work you to the bone and make you feel like detritus in general they keep the place woefully understaffed and then send in the regional managers in to belittle you and insult you with no basis or evidence to their claims and threaten you with "How easy it is to replace you." While for my entries time at Compass I've not seen one new starter stay more than two weeks leaving the mugs there who got threatened with being sacked.

The regional managers are wastes of space and are not needed at all in the company but like to come into a unit at the busiest time of the days and start ripping everything apart in front of customers and staff alike while abusing you verbally.

Remove these dead weights and increase the loyal staff members wages instead.

Most of the time while I'm at work there is two people all day meaning you NEVER get a break and then you lose the money for "having" a break and if you mention holiday on zero hours they start threatening you with cutting your hours so most of the time I'm working 9:00 till 6:00 with no breaks at all.

My social life has been ruined and my bodily and mental health has been ruined by this awful company don't even listen to them promising you stuff as a worker because only the managers get these perks you also HAVE to pay for your own food.

I had worked for this company almost 1 year and I do have to say working here was amazing until everything started to go upside down with new system. As ex catering staff in a hospital I have to say this is the worst company I had ever worked with. The management is not organised. The way staff were treated after new supervisor arrival were appalling. Pay were not corrected when working overtime (unpaid). Holiday were not approved or declined due to less staff!. Peer pressure from supervisor. 

What I do not understand about this company is even after I had left the company, the payroll of compass had sent me a letter of being overpaid due to an absence unknown?!. (This really do not make any sense to me at all!). It is unacceptable. All it takes for the organisation of this company is to be more organized. 

I would also like to include that I am not the first person to have been sent a letter from the payroll. There were several ex employee being sent an overpayment letter from compass payroll. I think there is some sort of falsely game the payroll of compass company is playing amongst their employees. I do not have any concerns paying the money back however, I think the company need to keep up their standards.

All I would like to let the future employees know is that be aware of your payment in your payslip.

I recently worked for compass and the management is terrible, they expected you to work at the drop of a hat. They gossiped 24/7 and if you didn’t fit in then you were made to feel like an outsider. I was penalised for not fitting In with the other workers and was expected to do the job of 3 members of staff because everybody else sat and gossiped and left me to work. Customers would complain about the lack of help and staff that they would see and the waiting time on their food constantly. The supervisors couldn’t supervise a preschool they didn’t care about they’re colleagues or about training new members of staff, the only time they cared was when it came to who got a break first. Many times I wouldn’t even get a break due to the fact that everyone over ran on their breaks and they had more family members come in to sit down then I care to mention, the minute a friend or family member came in they would make themselves more food and a drink and sit down with the person and ignore all their duties of work for hours on end. They allowed family members and friends out back and in the office which is completely unacceptable and a risk of health and hygiene and not covered on their insurance. If they don’t like you then they will lie about you to the manager and the manager will believe them due to the fact that she is also a liar and very two faced. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!!!
