Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support the smooth operation of the kitchen by ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and basic food preparation. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering setting is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Duties

Responsible for washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to maintain hygiene standards.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients under supervision.
Supporting the kitchen team with general cleaning duties including floors, work surfaces, and storage areas to ensure a safe and tidy environment.
Assisting with the organisation of stock and supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Helping with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Supporting serving staff during busy periods by providing necessary items and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas when required.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory.
Familiarity with food preparation and cooking processes is beneficial.
Experience working in a busy kitchen or catering setting will be considered an advantage.
Knowledge of health and safety standards within a culinary context is preferred but training will be provided for suitable candidates eager to learn.
A positive attitude, willingness to work as part of a team, and good organisational skills are essential qualities for success in this role. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry while contributing to a dynamic team environment.
