This post will ensure people have the opportunity to influence decisions that shape their places and how they live their lives.

The Role

In our small Team, as a Community Development Officer, you will play a key role in identifying local needs and delivering innovative projects that improve lives. You will work closely with individuals, groups, business and third sector partners to:

Develop and support community-led initiatives.
Empower individuals to build skills, confidence, and networks.
Creating a partnership approach to embed community priorities and foster collaboration.
Promote inclusion, engagement, and sustainability in all activities.

What we are looking for

Someone who:

Is enthusiastic and motivated to make a real difference.
Has a genuine passion for supporting people and communities.
Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills.
Can work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team.
Has experience and understanding of the value of community development and empowerment.
Understands the complexity and challenges of this type of role.

30 days annual leave plus 7 public holidays (rising to 35 after 5 years continuous service) Pro-rated for part time roles.
Flexible working including hybrid office/work from home arrangements where the role allows. We have a good balance across our teams, retaining the benefits to work/life balance of working from home part of the week, with the collaborative and social benefits of working from the office 2-3 days per week
Biennial incremental progression until top of your payscale is reached
