Junior MSK Physiotherapist
Full Time | Bexleyheath, Kent | £28,000–£34,000 + Structured Progression
Please note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK.
About Us
Pro-Form Physio & Fitness is a growing private MSK physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic based in Bexleyheath, Kent.
We combine high-quality hands-on physiotherapy with progressive exercise rehabilitation and are looking for an ambitious newly qualified or early career physiotherapist who wants to build a strong career in MSK and private practice.
This position is designed for someone who wants more than simply their first physiotherapy job. We are looking for a clinician who wants to develop their clinical skills, gradually take on greater responsibility and build a longer-term career within the clinic.
The Role
The initial focus of the role will be clinical development rather than expecting you to immediately manage a full private MSK caseload.
You will follow a structured development pathway incorporating direct mentoring, clinical supervision, protected CPD time, practical training and access to external clinical training software and educational resources.
Your caseload and level of independence will gradually increase as you demonstrate competency.
Your development will focus on:
- MSK subjective and objective assessment
- Differential diagnosis and clinical reasoning
- Treatment planning and progression
- Hands-on and manual therapy skills
- Exercise prescription and rehabilitation
- Management of common MSK presentations
- Recognising red flags and appropriate escalation/referral
- Patient communication and education
- Clinical documentation
- Independently managing patients through an episode of care
- Delivering a high-quality private practice patient experience
You will have opportunities to observe experienced physiotherapists, complete supervised assessments and treatments, practise practical techniques and receive direct feedback on your assessment, clinical reasoning, handling and treatment skills.
The aim is to develop you into a clinician who can confidently assess a patient, formulate and justify a working diagnosis and treatment plan, and independently progress that patient towards their goals.
Your Development
We will provide significant support, mentoring and opportunities to develop, but we also expect you to actively drive your own learning.
You should be someone who is willing to:
- Identify gaps in your knowledge and clinical skills
- Research unfamiliar conditions and treatment approaches
- Complete directed and self-directed CPD
- Ask questions and seek feedback
- Reflect on your clinical practice
- Apply feedback and demonstrate what you have learned
- Take increasing responsibility for your own development
Protected CPD and development time will be incorporated into your working week during the initial development period.
Salary & Career Progression
Starting salary: £28,000 per annum
This role has a structured salary progression pathway linked to clinical competency, performance and contribution to the clinic.
Subject to successfully meeting the required clinical competencies, KPIs and performance expectations at each stage, the anticipated progression is:
- Starting salary: £28,000
- 3-month review: progression to £30,000
- 6-month review: progression to £32,000
- Thereafter: salary reviewed annually, with progression up to £34,000 within the Junior Physiotherapist role
Salary progression is competency and performance based and is not automatic.
Reviews will consider factors including clinical competency, ability to safely and effectively manage an independent caseload, achievement of agreed KPIs, patient care and experience, professional development, reliability and contribution to the wider clinic and business.
There is also a clear longer-term career pathway beyond the Junior Physiotherapist position.
Physiotherapists who develop the required experience, clinical capability and wider responsibilities may progress into a Senior Physiotherapist role, with salary progression up to approximately £40,000, dependent on experience, length of service, performance, achievement of KPIs and contribution to the clinic.
Progression is therefore based on demonstrated development and contribution rather than simply time served.
