Contracts Manager, Anderson Power Generation
Reports to: Head of Operations
Direct reports: Site Managers, Bradford, Ossett and Germany (plus other sites/HQ as resourced)
Location: Based at Bradford, with regular travel to Ossett and Europe
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Role Purpose

Anderson Power Generation has grown from a start-up in 2019 into a multi-million pound business, with significant further growth targeted over the next five years. As the business has scaled, project programmes, materials ordering and customer account management have fallen to Site Managers on top of running people on site, and the admin side has suffered as a result.

This is a new role created to fix that. The Contracts Manager takes ownership of the programme, procurement and customer account management across our main sites (Bradford, Ossett and Germany), freeing Site Managers to focus on people and delivery on site.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Management

Build, maintain and keep live the project programme for every site, so progress against milestones is always current and visible.
Identify slippage early and put a recovery plan in place before it becomes a problem.
Report programme status regularly to the Head of Operations and Director.

Materials & Equipment

Order materials and equipment against programme dates, ahead of need rather than last-minute.
Work with procurement to plan ahead, reducing pressure to expedite and the cost that comes with it.
Track deliveries against site programme requirements and resolve supply issues before they cause delay.

Staffing & Site Oversight

Manage the Site Managers at Bradford, Ossett and Germany (and other sites/HQ as they are resourced).
Support staffing and resourcing decisions across sites, planning site labour needs ahead of demand.
Take programme and ordering admin off Site Managers, so they can concentrate on running people and delivery on site.

Customer & Account Management

Own the customer relationship and account management for each site.
Act as the main point of contact for clients on live projects, managing expectations, progress updates and issue resolution.
Represent Anderson Power Generation professionally in all customer-facing dealings.

Cross-Site Coordination

Coordinate across Bradford, Ossett and Germany to keep standards consistent and share learning between sites.
Work closely with the Engineering Director and design/production teams to keep programmes realistic and achievable.

Person Specification

Essential

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or similar within electrical, mechanical, fabrication, welding or power generation industries.
Strong programme/project planning skills (MS Project or equivalent).
Experience managing procurement and materials ordering against a live programme.
Experience managing site-based teams or Site Managers, ideally across multiple locations.
Confident, customer-facing manner with experience owning client relationships.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites.
Strong organisational skills and comfortable working in a fast-growing SME environment.

Desirable

Experience in electrical/mechanical fabrication, switchgear, generator or power infrastructure projects.
Experience working across international/European sites.
Relevant qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, ONC/HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent).

What Success Looks Like

Every site programme is live, accurate and used to drive decisions, not updated after the fact.
Materials and equipment arrive ahead of need against the programme, with expediting the exception rather than the norm.
Site Managers are focused on people and delivery, not chasing paperwork.
Customers have one clear, reliable point of contact for project status and issues.
